Marvel Studios is looking to kick off its 2022 theatrical slate with a bang as it releases Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness this coming May. Pairing Benedict Cumberbatch’s Master of the Mystic Arts alongside Elizabeth Olsen’s immensely powerful Scarlet Witch, this movie will take the MCU’s Multiverse to new levels of insanity after it was last seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Although Doctor Strange is the titular headliner in Multiverse of Madness, Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff is gaining momentum as one of Phase 4’s biggest players. Following her intense journey in WandaVision, which was directly referenced in the movie's first full trailer, Maximoff will have the chance to fully explore her true power as she helps Strange with his Multiversal problem.
Although Wanda didn't get a ton of face time in that debut trailer post-Spider-Man: No Way Home, promotional material has provided a number of images teasing her new look and power levels in her MCU return. Now, a new round of this material is giving more imagery teasing this movie's wild and trippy vibe.
Scarlet Witch in Strange Sequel Promo Material
Amazon released three listings for clothing items featuring new promotional material for Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
One shirt shows the Scarlet Witch in her full new costume using her powers as the film's title card is shown off at the bottom. Above the title is a take on the heroine's new tiara.
Also listed is a sweatshirt with an elaborate design that includes Benedict Cumberbatch's Stephen Strange and the Scarlet Witch, both characters in black & white. Behind them are wild designs featuring some of Strange's magic along with partial images of their faces.
One more t-shirt shows off Olsen's Wanda Maximoff floating in the air in the same position as the first image, although this one boasts a different shade of red in front of a new background design.
More Teases of Scarlet Witch's Intense Power
These new images don't necessarily tease anything new or fresh as Wanda rocks the costume that she forged in Episode 9 of WandaVision. With her powers in full form and Doctor Strange at her side, the Scarlet Witch will have the chance to continue her journey in epic fashion with her new threads and upgraded abilities.
More than anything, this merch further teases the idea that the MCU's Multiverse will go into complete chaos as Doctor Strange and Wanda Maximoff try to keep it from destroying all of humanity. An early synopsis has teased the idea that Strange will attempt some sort of forbidden spell that causes this chaos, a la Spider-Man: No Way Home, all while he finds a place near the top of the Avengers hierarchy.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will debut in theaters on May 6, 2022.
