Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantuamania will further push the Quantum Realm to the forefront of the MCU, but the film's approach in doing so is still a total mystery.

The upcoming threequel will be directed by Peyton Reed, and it will feature the return of Paul Rudd's Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly's Hope Van Dyne, Michael Douglas' Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet Van Dyne.

Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but it has been confirmed that the heroes will duke it out against Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror

Aside from the main cast and Majors, Quantumania will also showcase some fresh faces, starting with Kathryn Newton. The Freaky actress is set to portray Cassie Lang, replacing Emma Fuhrmann from Avengers: Endgame

Cassie Lang's return in Quantumania effectively raises the question of whether other supporting characters will make a comeback in the threequel. Bobby Cannavale, who plays Jim Paxton (stepfather of Cassie), revealed that he isn't sure if his character will return, citing the fact that the film's "got something bigger coming up."

Now, Cannavale's MCU counterpart has also cast doubt on a potential comeback in Quantumania.

Ant-Man Actress Responds to Potential MCU Return

Ant-Man actress Judy Greer, who plays Maggie Lang in the Paul Rudd-led MCU sub-franchise, sat down with Screen Rant to talk about her potential return for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Greer admitted that she still hasn't been contacted to appear in the threequel, while also pointing out that she's "terrible" at keeping secrets. Still, the Halloween Kills actress shared that she is "very available" and "very willing to go" if Marvel Studios decides to contact her for a return:

“I haven’t been told anything so I guess I’m not in it. I’m actually not, I’m terrible at [keeping secrets]. I always tell people like, ‘Just don’t tell me if you don’t want me to tell everyone.’ No one has contacted me and feel free to print that, that I’m very available and very willing to go.”

Judy Greer's latest comments clearly suggest that she has no idea on whether or not she will return to the MCU, but the fact that she is eager for a comeback is a positive sign. This is in line with the previous hopeful remarks of her co-star, Bobby Cannavale, where he stated that he is still down for another run at the Ant-Man franchise.

On a plot level, the return of Maggie Lang and Jim Paxton, even for brief scenes, would be beneficial for the character arc of Kathryn Newton's Cassie Lang. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania seems poised to set up Cassie for a major part in the MCU, and it would be fitting if the parents who helped raise her would be part of that journey.

In addition, Greer's character also became part of some of the hilarious scenes in the Ant-Man franchise, and her potential return could mean that more funny scenes would be included in the film. It will also be interesting to find out if both Maggie and Paxton survived Thanos' Snap, mainly because it is directly tied to Cassie's growth within the five-year gap.

Avengers: Endgame confirmed that Cassie was not a victim of Thanos' Decimation, and this could serve as a launchpad for her upcoming narrative in the threequel. There's a good chance that she started her training within the five-year gap between Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame to follow in the footsteps of her father, and that this path would continue in Quantumania

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to premiere in theaters on February 17, 2023.
