HBO's Harry Potter trailer hinted that Albus Dumbledore may have been testing the Boy Who Lived and his Hogwarts friends longer than anyone thought. HBO is officially expanding Harry Potter with new scenes that weren't in the books or movies, offering original flashbacks, moments with other students and Hogwarts professors, and hopefully fresh revelations about the franchise's lore. Of course, the show is largely staying loyal to the books, adding in the moments that the movies cut due to runtime restrictions. That will come in handy for Harry Potter's later, much longer books, which cut a lot for the big screen, but for the early tales, it offers hours of extra wiggle room for new content. 

One original addition to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone featured in the latest trailer for the HBO show, with a new conversation between Janet McTeer's Minerva McGonagall and John Lithgow's Albus Dumbledore. The cryptic dialogue teases that HBO may confirm a 29-year-old fan theory that changes everything about the conclusion of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

The iconic and beloved comedy series The Office received a spinoff last year, titled The Paper, on Peacock (no, not the Australian remake). Not only did it nail the landing, but it also did well enough to get renewed for Season 2. Cut to now, and those new episodes are almost here.

Instead of Dunder Mifflin, The Paper centers on the staff of the fictional newspaper The Toledo Truth Teller, a struggling local publication looking to get back on its feet under the new leadership of Domhnall Gleeson's editor-in-chief, Ned Sampson. Returning from The Office is Oscar Núñez, reprising his role of Oscar Martinez.

Just like The Office, The Paper is also filled with workplace romance. One of those key relationships is that of Ned and Chelsea Frei's Mare Preeti, a staff writer who works under him. After an entire season of will-they-won't-they action, the two finally got together at the end of Season 1, leaving the door open for their relationship to be explored in Season 2.

The Pendragon Cycle: Rise Of The Merlin star and writer Rose Reid has addressed the possibility of a second season, revealing that the creative team has already been discussing ideas for where the fantasy series could go next. Based on Stephen R. Lawhead's The Pendragon Cycle books, Rise Of The Merlin brings the legendary world of King Arthur and Merlin to the screen in a different manner. The series first premiered in January 2026.

While a second season of The Pendragon Cycle: Rise of the Merlin has not officially been announced, multiple stars of the show and one writer made clear that they hope the series will return, and that the team actually has an idea of where it could go next. Specifically, in an interview with LRM Online (shared via YouTube), The Pendragon Cycle: Rise of the Merlin star Myles Clohessy (Uther) talked about what it would mean to him to get to continue the series, mentioning that he hopes everyone "watches and supports it and pushes the network to do a Season 2:"

"Yes, sir. Thank you so much. We need a second season. Get it out there. I hope everyone that's listening to this watches and supports it and pushes the network to do a Season 2. We need it."

A second actor will play Ron Weasley for one particular scene in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter reboot series. Behind a cast of young new stars taking over for Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, Warner Bros. and HBO will dive back into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter through its upcoming series that retells the story from author J.K. Rowling's books. The show is expected to highlight more details from the books than were released between 2001 and 2011.

Originally reported by Redanian Intelligence in February, Louis Shelton was cast in HBO's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which hits the streamer on Christmas Day. Later reports noted that he would play an older version of Ron Weasley alongside Alastair Stout, who would take over the role from Rupert Grint from the original films.

This is an important scene from the original book, in which Harry and Ron come across a magical artifact called the Mirror of Erised. When they find it and look into it, they both see what they desire more than anything in the world. Harry sees himself standing next to his parents, Lily and James Potter, whose deaths led to him becoming the chosen one after Voldemort killed them and attempted to murder the young wizard.

The latest season of Taylor Sheridan's Paramount+ original has been going back and forth in between timelines to show how Joe has been abducted by terrorists and how her captors have evaded the CIA and her team from tracking her down. Joe had been through a lot ever since her capture, with her being physically abused and successfully removing her tracker on her foot to avoid detection. 

Lioness Episode 5 confirmed that Joe is still on U.S. soil after the ending revealed that her last known location had a Texas flag after landing. This confirmation sets the stage for her team, the Quick Reaction Force (QRF), in a race against time to save her before she is transported to another country, where it would be hard to pin down her location.

HBO's new Harry Potter trailer omitted a major character who is being recast for Season 2, now in production. Almost six months after HBO debuted the Wizarding World reboot's first official teaser in March, fans finally have a second trailer ahead of Harry Potter's series premiere this December. The sneak peek offers up more detailed looks at the portrayals that will carry Harry Potter into its new TV era, including Dominic McLaughlin's Boy Who Lived, John Lithgow's Dumbledore, Katherine Parkinson's Molly Weasley, and Paapa Essiedu's Hagrid.

HBO released the second trailer for its Harry Potter reboot, revealing a brand-new scene that wasn't in the books or movies: Alastair Stout's Ron Weasley receiving his Hogwarts acceptance letter at The Burrow. Walton Goggins' new look as The Ghoul has been spotted on the Fallout Season 3 set. Prime Video's post-apocalyptic TV series is based on Bethesda's popular video game series, which depicts a world devastated by nuclear bombs. One of the survivors in this world is Goggin's Cooper Howard, a former actor turned into a Ghoul by radiation, who is hunting for his family.

Goggins' Ghoul has long been defined by his red irradiated skin, which forces the actor to spend many hours in the makeup chair each day. Additionally, the post-apocalyptic Western tone of Fallout depicts the Ghoul as akin to a cowboy or bounty hunter, wearing a cattleman's hat and a long trench coat. That will continue into Season 3 of the TV series, though new set images have revealed an updated look at the Ghoul's costume.

Wednesday Season 3 is officially reversing course with a major decision involving Emma Myers' Enid Sinclair following her tragic Season 2 cliffhanger fate. HBO's Harry Potter revealed the first footage of Lord Voldemort in the upcoming reboot. Set to premiere on Christmas Day on HBO and HBO Max, Season 1 is an eight-episode adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, and this longer format allows the series to open the story in a way the 2001 movie of the same name never could by showing the night that created "The Boy Who Lived." Set photos shared by Wizarding World Direct in October 2025 (via X) depict a Halloween evening in 1981, the same night Lord Voldemort murdered James and Lily Potter in Godric's Hollow and cast the Killing Curse at Harry.

During the official Back to Hogwarts showcase that premiered on September 1, LEGO announced it is making sets for Season 1 of Harry Potter. The show's debut season, centered on The Philosopher's Stone, offers plenty of opportunities for brick-built sets that recreate iconic scenes from J.K. Rowling's novel. The announcement came with a special LEGO-built version of the show's logo that includes a small peek at upcoming minifigures while promising that the official sets are "coming soon."

Lioness Season 3 has been a nail-biter so far, and Episode 5 just left fans with even more questions, especially the flag at the end of the episode. The Taylor Sheridan spy thriller follows Zoe Saldaña's Joe McNamara, the CIA case officer in charge of the Lioness program, as she tries to balance the complexity of her undercover work with a normal family life. Just when things were getting much more stable for Joe and her family, she gets kidnapped, and the flag shown in the final minutes of Episode 5 just gave the hard-boiled agent a glimmer of hope for survival.

Season 3 Episode 5, titled "The Idiot Army," uses flashbacks to detail the ins and outs of Joe's kidnapping. The final minutes jump back to the present, where Joe's Russian captors take her off the private jet that took her from Baltimore. While stepping onto the tarmac, Joe, ever the fastidious agent, quickly scans her surroundings for clues. Glancing around, she spots the flag, which is that of the state of Texas, famously known as the Lone Star Flag. The flag is a historical symbol of Texas' independence from Mexico.

The Flag at the End of Lioness S3 Episode 5 Explained

Jon Favreau, the creative force behind The Mandalorian, unveiled the first look at his next Disney+ project, showcasing the logo, images, and footage for the upcoming series. The reveal came at D23, where the company previews its biggest slate of upcoming film and television projects. Rather than building something brand-new, like Pixar's Gatto, Favreau is turning to one of Walt Disney's own earliest creations, a character almost 100 years old. Despite that pedigree, the project looks made for a young audience, adding more of Disney's original, foundational IP into the Disney+ catalog.

That character is Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, and this new series, simply titled Oswald, is a return to the spotlight for the forgotten cartoon. It's easy to see why Jon Favreau was the man for the job: beyond Star Wars, he directed Disney's live-action The Jungle Book and The Lion King, both natural fits for this style of streaming project.

The three-episode Disney+ miniseries blends live-action with hand-drawn 2D animation, following three middle schoolers after an earthquake frees Oswald from decades of hiding. Favreau writes, directs, and executive-produces, while animator Sergio Pablos (Klaus) shapes Oswald's hand-drawn look.

Fans of George R.R. Martin's Fire & Blood book will be excited to hear that the Cannibal, an extremely dangerous and unpredictable wild dragon, could finally be featured in House of the Dragon Season 4, as his existence was recently teased by the official House of the Dragon VFX team. House of the Dragon just wrapped up its third season on HBO and HBO Max, leaving fans with the high-stakes First Battle of Tumbleton from George R.R. Martin's source material. Throughout the show's three installments, viewers have been introduced to more than a dozen dragons, but it seems as though one particular beast from the book that has not been featured in the show could be included in the fourth and final season.

House of the Dragon released an official VFX breakdown of House of the Dragon Season 3 following the end of the third installment, and at one point in the video, the VFX artists included a comparison between different designs for Sheepstealer (the dragon belonging to Rhaena Targaryen), with one of those comparison renderings specifically including the name of the Cannibal, a wild dragon that has not been seen in House of the Dragon.
