Kat Dennings confirmed that she hasn't been called to appear in Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder — twice now. However, Darcy will still have a pivotal role in WandaVision, who is key in helping S.W.O.R.D. discover more about the Westview anomaly.
Darcy first appeared in Thor as an original character, who quickly became a fan favorite alongside Tom Hiddleston's Loki. However, neither character has ever actually interacted with one another in the MCU, but Dennings would love to see that change.
“DO IT FOR THE TUMBLR”
Speaking with Joe, Kat Dennings was asked who she would love to see Darcy paired in a team-up. Dennings immediate answered with Tom Hiddleston's Loki:
“I know that there's a lot of online stuff about Darcy and Loki, that's been brought to my attention, which is so great...so I'll hope for that.”
The actress is very aware of the online fandom for both characters, saying that “I think it would be exciting for a few people on Tumblr. Do it for the Tumblr.”
Dennings believes that “it would be a funny pairing” and describes them as “the two most opposite characters in the MCU. Probably.” She rationalizes the possibility of them meeting up again due to Darcy's malleability of being an original character in the MCU:
“The cool thing about Darcy being an original character and... now she's Dr. Darcy Lewis, she's an astrophysicist, she's kind of fair game for any interaction, which is very exciting.”
Although, Dennings notes how unlikely the pairing would be at this point, saying that “I wouldn't expect anything further, but she could be plopped anywhere, I guess.”
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE IN THE MCU
Of course, no fan expected Kat Dennings' Darcy to come back to the MCU after all these years, especially in WandaVision of all properties. So, it's not impossible for Darcy and Loki to interact at some point down the line, especially with Darcy now on speed-dial as a professional astrophysicist for S.W.O.R.D. and Loki running around in his own Disney+ series.
It's entirely possible that Darcy could have a run-in with the God of Mischief in the second season of Loki. After all, there's surely a way to tie-in Darcy's new profession in astrophysics to the time shenanigans that Loki will be up to in his series. It could even be an alternate version of Darcy that interacts with the disgraced deity.
