As Marvel Studios' debut Disney+ series, WandaVision proved MCU storytelling has a place on streaming as well as the big screen.
While the groundbreaking show paved the way for other Marvel series like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, and even the MCU's first animated show What If...?, WandaVision's success also led to its own spin-off featuring its standout supporting star - Kathyrn Hahn's Agatha Harkness.
In the show, Agatha Harkness pretended to be Wanda's nosy neighbor Agnes while secretly investigating Wanda's magical abilities. Only later on in the show's run was the truth revealed that it actually was "Agatha All Along."
In light of reports that Marvel Studios is developing an Agatha-centric dark comedy series for Disney+, Kathyrn Hahn has finally commented on the news in a way that's truly in character.
WandaVision's Kathyrn Hahn Comments on Marvel's Agatha Series
When asked by Entertainment Tonight about Marvel's potential WandaVision spin-off series, Kathyrn Hahn revealed nothing but did tease that "anything can happen in Marvel:"
"I don't know if there is such a thing as a WandaVision spin-off, honey. I have to be honest, all I can say is I love Agatha. As we know, anything can happen in Marvel. So who knows?"
According to prior reports, Kathryn Hahn's series is likely part of a larger deal she made with Marvel Studios.
While Marvel has yet to provide a timeline for the potential series, WandaVision's head writer, Jac Schaeffer, has been reported to serve as the new show's writer and executive producer.
Marvel's New Magical Girl in Town
Much like Agatha Harkness herself, Kathyrn Hahn isn't about to reveal her plans until the time is right; although, like Agatha, that doesn't mean she won't drop a hint or two.
While the Emmy-nominated actress denied knowing about a WandaVision spin-off, she did admit that "all I can say is I love Agatha" and "anything can happen in Marvel." As with most MCU projects, Marvel talent truly can't say anything until further into production and sometimes beyond that.
What isn't deniable is Hahn's popularity and the fact that Marvel Studios wants to keep the character in the MCU. After all, WandaVision intentionally kept the door open for her character to return; and, according to the comics, she has a history with the Fantastic Four.
It's possible that Marvel fans will receive confirmation and additional news about this spin-off series on Disney Plus Day on November 12, 2021. Also, considering Wanda's involvement in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Hahn could make her Marvel film debut on the big screen in 2022.
All episodes of WandaVision are streaming on Disney+.
