NEWS
In a recent tweet , Julia Alexander of The Verge posted a list of dates from a preview kit for Disney+'s upcoming 2021 releases. While the dates list several key Marvel and Star Wars series set to be released in 2021 (such as The Book of Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Bad Batch ), it notably omits The Mandalorian Season 3.
This seemingly confirms that The Mandalorian 's third season will be releasing on the streaming service in 2022, or later.

WHAT THIS MEANS
The fact that The Mandalorian was left off of this official list of dates does seem to indicate that the third season will be getting a 2022 release window. While this may be disappointing to fans due to an extended wait, a potential back-to-back production with The Book of Boba Fett does suggest that Season 3 should follow soon after Boba Fett's solo series. While this is pure speculation, it is likely that a third season of The Mandalorian would reasonably release in the first or second quarter of 2022 at the latest.
This decision makes financial sense, as it results in Disney+ subscribers continuously renewing their subscription over a longer period of time. While it would have been exciting for fans to get two Star Wars shows running simultaneously, this would not have been as lucrative as a staggered release for the two series. Lucasfilm is well-aware of the success of The Mandalorian, so will be quite happy to make fans wait if it means greater profits down the line. Let's just hope that the long wait is more than worth it.
From this, it seems that The Mandalorian Season 3 will be arriving on Disney+ in 2022.
