Star Wars fans have been enjoying their wealth of riches recently. While The Book of Boba Fett may have started as a show focused on Temuera Morrison's titular bounty hunter, it’s become so much more. The last episode included appearances and substantial contributions from characters such as Luke Skywalker, Grogu, Cobb Vanth, Cad Bane, and Ahsoka Tano.
The last two installments also showed viewers what exactly Din Djarin has been up to since The Mandalorian’s second season ended. The answer? He’s caught up with his fellow Mandalorians and showed off his new gear in the process.
Of course, that gear is none other than The Darksaber. Having acquired it after defeating Moff Gideon, fans haven’t seen it used much since the end of Season 2.
Thankfully, Mando treated us to a couple of action sequences using the powerful weapon. One of them was even in a duel against his own kind—a scene that Disney has now released new high-quality shots of.
The Legendary Dark Saber
Disney released brand new high-quality images from The Book of Boba Fett. The scene in question features Din Djarin using the Darksaber in a battle with Paz Vizla.
Mando is seen using the black-bladed weapon as The Armorer stands before him.
The intense fight between Paz Vizla is immortalized in this moment, as Mando’s heavy shield protects him from the very weapon he hopes to obtain.
Fans can see The Armorer going at it against the gaveled Darksaber as Mando protects himself.
The Legacy of Mandalore
The Darksaber is an extremely important weapon in Star Wars lore; oddly enough, it hasn’t been part of the live-action side of the universe until its recent debut in The Mandalorian. Nearly all of the story involving the legendary weapon has lived in the animated side of the story until that time.
Given the heavy focus on this weapon and what it means to the various Mandalorians who have shown up, Mando’s third season will no doubt revolve around its legacy. It was even teased that the future plot could make its way back to Mandalore—though, given its destruction, is there anything worth saving?
Maybe the city has been rebuilt and gained new inhabitants sometime between its destruction and now. Fans will surely find out sooner rather than later; it seems that Mandalore and its story could be the big endgame for the live-action Star Wars streaming narrative
