Spider-Man: No Way Home is in the final stages of preparation for its long-awaited release in theaters, with Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures releasing new tidbits to get fans ready for the movie event of 2021. With Tom Holland’s web-slinger set to take on powerful Multiversal villains like Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx’s Electro and more, there is no shortage of hype for what fans are about to see in the MCU’s third Spidey solo flick.

After both of No Way Home’s full trailers broke the internet to levels never seen before, the past few weeks kicked the promotional tour to new heights with tiny bits of new footage and teases at every turn. Although the true plot is still a mystery, one that has its cast and crew going absolutely bonkers to keep a secret, fans are taking in new information almost every day on what’s set to arrive.

Most of this footage centers around the film’s villains, which feels appropriate considering how all of them literally gain new life within the MCU after coming in from five past Spider-Man solo movies. That continues in the latest TV spot, which shows what happens to one villain's iconic costume.

Goblin Loses Mask in No Way Home Promo

Youtuber Kids Animation Theatre shared a video of three new TV spots for Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' Spider-Man: No Way Home.

One new shot showed Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin mask on the ground and shattered into pieces, most prominently showing two big pieces broken apart in the middle of the mouth.

No Way Home for the Goblin Mask

On top of five unique villains from Sam Raimi and Marc Webb’s web-slinger movies coming into the MCU, anticipation is rising to see how Marvel Studios will give all of them fresh and updated looks and abilities. Doc Ock was confirmed to steal the Iron Spider armor straight off Peter Parker’s body while Jamie Foxx continues sharing his excitement about not having to be blue in this movie unlike in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin gets in on the action too, with an upgraded look as he loses the iconic mask that became so popular in 2002's Spider-Man. This trailer even reveals that instead of simply ditching the mask, it's broken beyond repair as he enters the Marvel Studios narrative, which was teased previously along with numerous other costume changes.

Whether Dafoe's Norman Osborn breaks it himself or if it's damaged in the early battle against Peter Parker is a mystery, but it does confirm why other clips show a maskless Goblin coming for Peter and his loved ones. Of course, the actor has a history of giving terrifying performances without the iconic mask, which should mean that some scary moments featuring his villain will come in this new outing.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to swing into theaters on December 17, 2021.
