The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding by introducing a slew of new characters in Phase 4, and one of them is Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel . The character is set to star in her own Disney+ series under the same title, and she will be played by newcomer Iman Vellani .
Plot details are still being kept under wraps for the upcoming MCU series, but the official synopsis was unveiled during Disney Investor Day which confirmed that the character has a “special affinity” with superheroes like Brie Larson's Captain Marvel. In addition, Vellani will be joined by a stacked ensemble of stars , with the likes of Aramis Knight, Matt Lintz, and Zenobia Shroff joining the fray.
Production is currently underway for Ms. Marvel , and it has since been confirmed that filming has moved to Bangkok, Thailand . Now, a new look at the cast and crew in the Asian country has emerged.
A FRESH LOOK AT THE MS. MARVEL CAST AND CREW
Stunt performer Lauren Mary Kim , via Ms. Marvel News on Twitter, shared an image to her Instagram Stories from the production of Ms. Marvel in Bangkok, showing off the cast and crew posing together in a group photo while taking a break from filming.
The image shows lead star Iman Vellani, executive assistant Jenna Berger, and stunt actress Lauren Mary Kim alongside several other members of the MCU production. Actor Matt Lintz, who is playing Bruno Carrelli in the series, also appears to be standing next to Kim.

MS. MARVEL IN ACTION IN BANGKOK
The newly-revealed image provides an important update for the filming progress of Ms. Marvel, while also confirming that Vellani will shoot scenes in Thailand for the series. It was initially assumed that the scenes to be filmed in the Asian country would solely be for the introduction of Red Dagger, but it is now clear that this isn't the case.
On a plot level, Vellani's inclusion in the Bangkok side of production opens up numerous story possibilities. This could hint that Kamala will travel to Thailand for a mission with Red Dagger, potentially saving someone close to the latter (like his family) from an unknown threat.
This development could also mean that Ms. Marvel will not be confined within Jersey City, and this says a lot about Kamala's first superhero adventure.
The anticipation surrounding Ms. Marvel is high, especially after the confirmation that Kamala will join Carol Danvers and Monica Rambeau in Captain Marvel 2 . Not much is known as to whether the MCU show will provide clues about the plot of the Captain Marvel sequel, but there's a chance that a connection will be made in the final episodes or even a hint inside a post-credit scene.
Ms. Marvel is shaping up to be an interesting origin story for Kamala, and Bangkok is poised to serve as an important setting for the hero's arc in the series.
Ms. Marvel is set to be released in late 2021 on Disney+.
