Bill Murray Rumored to Play Weird Hulk Character In the MCU

After two hilarious entries in the Ant-Man and the Wasp franchise, Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily will return to lead the third installment, Quantumania, in July 2023. Marvel Studios has yet to offer much in the way of specific plot details although the titular duo will obviously be returning alongside Hank Pym, Cassie Lang, and Johnathon Majors' Kang the Conqueror.

Ghostbusters star Bill Murray recently confirmed he will appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in an as yet unknown role and capacity. Naturally, the Marvel fandom has since been frantically speculating as to who the sci-fi legend could be playing.

With filming now wrapped on the threequel, a recent rumor has suggested he may be playing an obscure Hulk and Agents of SHIELD alien character. 

Bill Murray to Play Weird Hulk Character

The Illuminerdi recently shared a rumor suggesting Ghostbusters actor Bill Murray may be playing the obscure Marvel character Krylar in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Krylar previously only appeared in one issue of "The Incredible Hulk" from 1962 before ultimately meeting his demise. The character also played a brief role in an episode of Agents of SHIELD Season 5 as a co-leader of the Confederacy - an alien alliance against threatening enemies - before being killed by a superpowered Glenn Talbot. 

How Does Krylar Play into Ant-Man 3?

With legendary Ghostbusters actor Bill Murray having been cast as such an obscure Marvel character, one can only assume there may be a twist on the way. Alternatively, if it does turn out that Murray is simply playing this weird alien with virtually no comic history, then chances are he will largely be a new character or maybe even just a cameo.

So far, Marvel Studios has offered virtually nothing to go off surrounding the plot of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lily will obviously return as the titular heroes alongside Michael Douglas' Hank Pym and Kathryn Newton as the recast Cassie Lang, with Johnathon Majors playing Kang the Conqueror. 

Bill Murray's role in the Quantum Realm adventure will likely become more clear as release moves ever closer. But if one thing is for certain, Quantumania's Krylar will almost certainly be separate from and have no connection to his Agents of SHIELD counterpart.
