The starring project of the MCU over the past few days is Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye , which started filming in November and is currently well into production. Hailee Steinfeld has spent the last couple days stealing the show with confirmation that she is playing Kate Bishop, and set photos have teased another intriguing story set in a post- Avengers: Endgame world.

The first inside looks at Hawkeye have teased a Christmas-time setting for the series and adorable new characters like Lucky the Pizza Dog. Another photo gave fans the first look at Alaqua Cox practicing for her role as Echo , the first deaf hero brought to life in the MCU.

While it may not be a leaked image from set, a new peek into the show has arrived via social media from one of the newly announced stars in Hawkeye .

WHAT THIS MEANS

While earlier reports only listed Fee’s character as the Clown, he is likely to be portraying a little known Marvel villain named Kazimierz Kazimierczak , a Polish assassin from the comics who has faced off against Hawkeye multiple times over the years. It’s still unclear how he will fit into the plot of the show, especially with filming only happening in New York City, but he should be an exciting new face in a group of menacing villains that will arrive in Phase 4.

As for Fee himself, this will only be the eleventh credited role of his career since beginning in 2012’s Les Misérables , and he will play a key role in 2021’s Cinderella remake as well. The Clown should come as his biggest role yet as he adds to the MCU’s massive expansion on Disney+ over the next few years.

Hawkeye is currently in the early stages of filming and is set for release on Disney in late 2021 or 2022.
