Thor: Love and Thunder is one of the most anticipated entries in the ambitious Phase 4 slate of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film will be led by Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi, and it will see the return of Natalie Portman's Jane Foster alongside Chris Hemsworth's Thor and Tessa Thompson's Valkryie.

Love and Thunder presents a rare opportunity for Hemsworth, since this will mark the first time that an MCU hero will have a fourth solo film in the interconnected narrative of the franchise. On top of that, the film will also have an ensemble cast of characters with the likes of Chris Pratt and Christian Bale joining the action-packed adventure alongside the returning MCU veterans.

Thompson even teased in a previous interview that there might be “some new characters” and “some folks potentially from other pockets of the MCU, and...some folks, maybe, that we’ve seen before” that could appear in the fourth installment of the Thor franchise. Given that, this adds further proof that Love and Thunder will ultimately have an "Avengers 5 feel" to it.

Despite the massive ensemble of characters that are already confirmed, it seems that more actors from the entertainment industry have thrown their hat into the ring, as evidenced by a newly-released self-made audition tape on Instagram.

Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone shared a silly audition tape on Instagram for Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder. In the video, the couple admitted that they are both “desperate to be part” of the upcoming MCU film while showcasing their talents and achievements to get the attention of Waititi and Marvel Studios.

The charming couple even pointed out that they are prepared to do “a monologue,” with Falcone performing a scene from The Tempest and McCarthy down to do an act from the 1985 Geraldine Page movie, The Trip to Bountiful.

Then, Falcone's pronounced “Marvel” similar to Carvel, an American Ice cream shop, and McCarthy complimented it by jokingly saying, “Marvel, you make a wonderful movie and a wonderful ice cream cake.” After McCarthy bragged about her hummus-making skills, this ultimately led to an impromptu song cover from the couple where they managed to include Thor: Love and Thunder in the lyrics.

The entertaining audition tape can be seen below:

Merry Christmas!

The names of McCarthy and Falcone didn't surface from previous rumors about Thor: Love and Thunder, and this new video is likely to be made for the sake of simply having fun.

Admittedly, it isn't surprising that the couple made an effort to do their very own audition tape for an MCU film, since the popularity of the franchise has skyrocketed ever since the end of the Infinity Saga. If Waititi and Marvel Studios decides to hire the funny couple, it would serve as a fitting addition due to their comedic background, and this would add more star power to an already-stacked Love and Thunder cast.

Interestingly, though, Waititi already included some notable A-listers during his stint on Thor: Ragnarok. During a funny sequence from the 2017 film, Matt Damon, Sam Neill, and Luke Hemsworth all portrayed Asgardian actors posing as Loki, Odin, and Thor respectively. The quirky director managed to sneak in the cameos successfully, admitting that he "often put in a lot of my actors from my other films…that for me makes it more of my film.”

Not much is known if the charming audition tape will present a similar opportunity for McCarthy and Falcone, but the video will no doubt send a lot of good vibes for MCU fans everywhere.
