In Summer 2021, Marvel Studios took the opportunity to deliver a six-episode solo series for one of the longest-running fan-favorite MCU characters in Tom Hiddleson's Loki on Disney+. Sending the anti-hero off on a whirlwind adventure through time and space after his escape in Avengers: Endgame, Hiddleston's hero took on some wild challenges while meeting plenty of new faces along the way.

Much of the fresh material came from characters like Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobus and Sophia Di Martino's Sylvie, who both played key roles in helping Loki figure out the mysteries behind the TVA and the Multiverse itself. Shortly after the show ended, they were rumored to return to their roles in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, once again teaming up with Hiddleston to continue their story.

From Loki's main cast, one character whose future is still largely a mystery is that of Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Judge Ravonna Renslayer. Recently, Mbatha-Raw shared her own thoughts on that unknown status and where she could potentially go in future MCU projects.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Loki star Gugu Mbatha-Raw shared her excitement to see where Marvel Studios could take Judge Renslayer after her debut on Disney+.

While she's currently unclear on exactly where the story is going with the character, she sees "so much potential" for the role, particularly with the fact that she deals in time-related matters:

"Honestly, I genuinely don't know where it's going. I feel like there's so much potential, especially when you're dealing with time, as Renslayer does, you know? So, yeah, I don't know."

At the moment, Mbatha-Raw is deep into production on another project, which has contributed to her being out of the loop on her MCU role. However, she remains open to the possibility of coming back in either a movie or TV show further down the line:

"I haven't really… I sort of keep an open mind. I've been working quite intensely on something else over the last five months. So I don't know. I'm sort of open to the next chapter. We'll see. I would, of course, be open to (a movie). I don't know where it's all going at this point, but we'll see."

More Renslayer in Future MCU Projects?

Judge Renslayer was a vital part of Loki's first season almost right from the start of Episode 1, when she put the God of Mischief on trial for his crimes against the Sacred Timeline. Reluctantly letting Mobius work with Loki on the mission that was ahead of them, she seemed to lurk in the shadows at every turn before having to reveal that much of what made the Time Variance Authority run was fake.

Through all this, though, Renslayer's future is more open-ended than almost any other character from Season 1 of Loki. Mobius and Sylvie are rumored to make their returns in the Doctor Strange sequel while Jonathan Majors' He Who Remains will become Kang the Conqueror in 2023's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but there are no signs pointing to where Mbatha-Raw could bring her character back.

In Episode 6 of Loki, Renslayer walked through a TVA portal in her office after her last conversation with Mobius, but there were no indications of where she was headed for her next challenge. Hopefully, whether it be in Loki Season 2 or another project, that question and others will find answers in the Renslayer department.

The first full season of Loki is available to stream on Disney+.
