Warning: This article contains a major plot spoiler about Zack Snyder's Justice League.
Zack Snyder's Justice League is now less than a month away from its long-awaited debut on HBO Max, which means the promotional tour is in full swing. As he has been doing for most of the past year since the film got the green light, director Zack Snyder has been very open about teasing what's coming in this updated cut and letting fans know what they should expect.
There is still plenty of discussion surrounding the Valentine's Day trailer, which revealed the first look at Jared Leto's Joker and showed off more new footage to dissect. This all comes alongside plenty of negative press from other sources, as more of the behind-the-scenes dirt comes to light from the theatrical cut's production.
One of the biggest teases laid out by Snyder is the secretive mystery cameo that was rumored to "blow hard-core fans' minds" upon arrival in the Snyder Cut. Well, news on who is making that cameo has just come to light.
THE UNEXPECTED CAMEO? MORE EXPECTED THAN...EXPECTED.
According to a new report from io9 , the teased superhero cameo set to arrive at the end of Zack Snyder's Justice League is Harry Lennix's Martian Manhunter.
Lennix's involvement in the movie as a whole has been reported on for the past few weeks.
BLOWING MINDS WITH NEWS THAT CAME WEEKS AGO
When it was first confirmed six weeks ago that Harry Lennix filmed new scenes for the Snyder Cut as the Martian Manhunter , it was absolutely exciting to know that a founding member of the Justice League would finally make his big-screen live action debut. That being said, the fact that this is the major earth-shattering cameo that Snyder discussed comes as almost a disappointment with how much hype was built up around it.
On one hand, this could all be a ruse by Zack Snyder before another truly unexpected cameo comes to light in the Snyder Cut. However, with how open and forthcoming Snyder has been with information on this updated movie , that seems fairly unlikely to be the case.
Yes, having the Manhunter in the DCEU will (maybe) be a fantastic sight. Yes, fans have wanted to see J'onn J'onnz in the franchise for most of the last eight years. But with the mystery and gravitas that came with the reports of this previously unknown cameo, it feels something that fans already expected.
Whatever Snyder's reasoning is for this, hopefully it will still be as exciting of an addition as he hopes it will be down the line. Zack Snyder's Justice League will premiere on HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
