With half of its first season complete, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has a lot of ground to cover in its remaining three episodes. The titular characters have stumbled upon a new threat and must still grapple with the legacy of the super-soldier serum and the meaning of Captain America's shield in today's world. Old characters continue to appear, bringing with them new conflicts to sort through.
So far, the show has continued Marvel's successful formula, combining engaging characters, a developing world, and high-octane action. While WandaVision moved in a different direction, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier appears to be embracing the franchise's core characteristics, mapping them onto real-world issues of the moment.
The future of the series looks especially bright, with Episode 3 introducing some interesting new characters and an exciting cliffhanger seemingly on the horizon.
WHAT DOES FALCON & WINTER SOLDIER HAVE LEFT
Marvel fan @ThomasS39435027 via the Marvel Clips YouTube channel has put together a compilation of all the promotional footage from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that hasn't yet appeared in the show. Their video also includes some leaked on-set footage, notably some stunts and fight sequences.
Collectively, the compilation reveals a look at the set pieces, action scenes, and emotional beats fans have to look forward to in the rest of the show. A few key moments can be seen below:
Anthony Mackie's Falcon and Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier stand ready for battle, likely appraising some threat ahead of them. The two are fully decked out in costume.
Armed forces storm a building during some sort of emergency. The team in question is likely made up of agents from the Global Repatriation Council or perhaps a contingent of Flag Smashers.
Erin Kellyman, as Karli Morgenthau, looks out in the distance. She appears to be conflicted, likely contemplating the moral weight of her actions or the path ahead of her.
Bucky Barnes coldly points a gun at what appears to be Daniel Brühl's Helmut Zemo. The relationship between the two has always been fraught, but it seems things will come to a head in the second half of the show.
Bucky hangs out with Sam's family. He shows off his softer side here, playing with the kids and using his powerful vibranium arm for fun rather than violence.

THE ROAD AHEAD
Pieced together, these clips hint at a few future developments for the show. It seems that Sam and Bucky are headed towards a confrontation with not only Karli Morgenthau and her Flag Smashers, but also the new Captain America, John Walker. This makes sense considering the previous episodes, but it's good to get some confirmation on the direction of the show.
Interestingly, it seems that John Walker's second Captain America will get more time to shine in the second half of the season, as quite a few sequences seem to revolve primarily around him. Rumors have indicated that the fourth episode of the series will focus more on Walker and his partner, Lemar Hoskins, so this makes quite a bit of sense.
It also looks like the temporary alliance between our heroes and Zemo is destined to fracture. The characters are not entirely aligned even now, so it follows that the events of the series will see them come to blows once more.
Though these newly compiled scenes do show off the exciting action fans still have to look forward to, it seems the show is proceeding in a fairly safe direction, unfolding plot threads related to the central conflict while not totally disrupting the status quo of the MCU.
To see what the events of the series will bring to bear upon the larger universe, fans will have to keep an eye out for episode four, releasing this Friday on Disney+.
