The Falcon and the Winter Soldier officially came to a close this week, wrapping up several storylines while also teasing a dangerous future along the way.
Created by Malcolm Spellman , the series started with a furious back and forth between Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson and Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes, but as the season progressed, the pair came together like best friends that would make Steve Rogers proud (wherever he is).
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is filled with strong story beats, ranging from the recreation of the Super Soldier Serum all the way to the complicated legacy of Captain America's shield . The latter was pushed to the forefront in the last batch of episodes, and it definitely added more layers to Sam's character arc throughout that process.
The finale gave the spotlight to Sam's transition into the MCU's Captain America captivatingly. Now, a new image has emerged showing a different side of one of the character's breathtaking moments from the episode.

THE MCU WELCOMES A NEW CAPTAIN AMERICA
This newly-released image of Anthony Mackie's Marvel hero serves as a fitting reminder of why the character deserves the Star-Spangled mantle.
The final battle between Sam Wilson and Karli Morgenthau didn't feel like a fight at all, and that's a good thing. Despite everything Karli did, Sam still believed that she had a shot at redemption.
This was manifested throughout the fight when Sam refused to punch back while Karli was infused with rage. Unfortunately, Karli died when Sharon Carter shot her while saving Sam in the process.
The takeaway from that fight was Sam's faith toward people, a similar trait that Steve Rogers manifested throughout the Infinity Saga. The fact that Sam's initial plan leaned toward a non-violent approach goes to show that he is the right choice to take the Stars and Stripes.
On the surface, Karli's death might be viewed as a failure for Sam's first outing as Captain America, but the Flag Smasher leader did acknowledge her mistakes in her final moments. Sam's reference to Karli as a “misguided” soul further amplified that notion.
As Sam pointed out in his speech, the only power that he has is his belief that everyone “can do better,” and this should apply to his next mission in the MCU.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is now streaming on Disney+.
