Disney's Investor Day 2020 revealed a lot about the future of the MCU, including the upcoming series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Now confirmed to be launching on Disney+ on March 19, 2021, the latest adventure for Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson will find the two trying to honor the legacy of Captain America. A new trailer provided a better idea of what fans can expect, including a new look at Erin Kellyman's mysterious character.

The series seems to be leading up to Falcon taking over Cap's mantle, which is suggested by a few pieces of merchandise for the series. A toy based on Falcon's Captain America suit provided a stylized indication of what his costume could look like. Some clothing also presented a similar Cap design for Sam Wilson, fitting him head to toe in red, white, and blue.

Now, one of the biggest stars of the MCU has given his quick reaction to the latest trailer...

NEWS

In a recent tweet, Captain America actor Chris Evans shared his reaction to the trailer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, simply saying "WOW!!!!" along with a fire emoji next to an eyes emoji.

WHAT THIS MEANS

Chris Evans' Captain America paved the way for Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson to protect the legacy of the shield, so it is great to see that the real life Steve Rogers has given his blessing to the series. Even though Evans is moving on from his Marvel days to pursue other projects, he clearly has a lot of love for the franchise.

While it is very likely that Chris Evans' MCU appearances are all but finished, it is safe to say that his impact will be felt in the Disney+ series. Steve Rogers and what he wanted will almost certainly be a discussion point between Bucky and Sam, so he will have some sort of presence even if the super soldier does not actually make a physical appearance.

It would be interesting to know how Chris Evans feels about Wyatt Russell stepping into Captain America's boots, only for the character to tarnish the goodwill that Steve Rogers has built up in the role. With U.S. Agent potentially besmirching the good name of the Captain America title, it is up to Falcon and the Winter Soldier to protect it at all costs.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier continues where Captain America left off, when the series premieres on Disney+ on March 19, 2021.
