It's been quite a while since fans have seen Brie Larson's heroic Captain Marvel. The cosmic powerhouse was first introduced in her own solo film in 2019, just before the cinematic event that was Avengers: Endgame. Since then, however, not much has been heard from her—aside from a cameo at the end of Shang-Chi. The next time she's poised to show up on audiences' screens is for next year's The Marvels.

Not much is known about the film, aside from the fact that Larson won't be alone in her next adventure. Whatever threat she faces, there will be a few other Marvels alongside her. Of course, that would be none other than Teyonah Parris's Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel, with Vellani still awaiting her proper MCU introduction.

The film was originally supposed to hit this November, but it was pushed back into next year due to some scheduling shifts. With filming already completed, the project is now in post-production as it inches closer to release.

Now, just under a year away from its release date, one of the film's stars has taken to social media to celebrate the impending arrival of their adventure.

Captain Marvel Arrives In a Year

The Marvels star Brie Larson, who plays Captain Marvel herself, took to Twitter to celebrate the upcoming release of her next MCU film, which releases in one year from now on February 17, 2023.

Alongside the photo below, Larson teased: "See you in a year, Carol:"

The Marvels Are Almost Here

The Marvels is bound to be a massive film with a story that'll no doubt have far-reaching effects on the MCU. After all, there's gotta be something big if three powerhouses like the ones featured need to team up in the first place.

When it comes to the picture Larson posted, one observation of note is the sweater hanging from her chair. It happens to have the colors of the bisexual pride flag, which may be there purposefully in light of the rumors of Carol Danvers and Valkyrie having a relationship in a future MCU film.

There have been plenty of rumors of that being a fun future development, which could happen in either Thor: Love and Thunder or The Marvelsmaybe even both. Sure, many comic fans may want to see Carol's relationship with Rhodey flourish, but why not have some fun along the way?

Even though Danvers' next confirmed appearance is a year out, as theorized above, she could easily appear somewhere sooner. There's the potential for Thor thanks to Valkyrie, but then there's Disney+'s Ms. Marvel. It's hard to imagine that show ending and not having some sort of stinger with Iman Vellani's hero meeting her idol, thus leading into their next outing.

Thor: Love and Thunder releases on July 8 later this year, and The Marvels releases next year on February 17, 2023.
