Marvel Studios is in a fantastic place once again with the conclusion to WandaVision coming this week on Disney+ . After a one-week interlude with the Assembled series looking into the work behind the scenes on this first Disney+ property, the story will continue on the streaming platform with Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on March 19.
While the MCU is excelling in its early run in the streaming world, its bread and butter is still the big-screen theatrical movies which have unfortunately been delayed multiple times over the past year. The first of these releases is Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow , which will be the first solo movie for the founding Avenger after over a decade's worth of key supporting roles.
Alongside the former Russian assassin will be a host of new heroes fleshing out her past from the Red Room and her early days as an assassin. Thanks to news from a recent social media blast, a couple of these comrades are set to be immortalized in toy form.
NEW TOYS FOR MELINA VOSTOKOFF AND RED GUARDIAN
A new post from the Hasbro Pulse Facebook page has confirmed two new Marvel Legends action figures going into production. These figures are for David Harbour's Red Guardian and Rachel Weisz's Melina Vostokoff from Marvel Studios' Black Widow .
The full images can be seen below:
The full box art shows off the figurines of Red Guardian and Melina Vostokoff, alongside all of their nifty accessories.
The in-universe figurine for David Harbour's Red Guardian, includes the hero with his mask on and wielding his shield.
This picture shows David Harbour's Red Guardian without his mask, and he is even holding what appears to be a tiny version of his own action figure.
The above picture shows the figurine for Melina Vostokoff, suited up and wielding a grappling hook in preparation for action.
The final image shows a second version of Melina Vostokoff, this one wielding two staffs in a battle-ready pose.
RED GUARDIAN CLEARLY A FAN OF RED GUARDIAN
All of these pictures give some great looks at the action figures for the Red Guardian and Melina Vostokoff, both coming in as capable allies for Natasha Romanoff in her solo adventure . Above all, though, the fact that the Red Guardian model has his own Red Guardian model in hand is undoubtedly a laughter-inducing sight.
Giving off the same vibes as Disney's animated Hercules , it seems as though Alexei Shostakov is an established figure in the Black Widow mythology which will be interesting to see as Natasha returns to her roots. Whether he is revered or reviled as a public figure is still a mystery, but it's clear that people know who he is in his home country.
Both Shostakov and Vostakoff will be major players in Natasha Romanoff's storyline as she returns to her roots after the events of Captain America: Civil War . While the plot of the solo film is largely still a mystery, Nat will at least have some allies to give her comfort through a challenging time as she rediscovers who she is and what she's meant to do.
Black Widow is set to release theatrically on May 7, 2021 .
