One standard practice in the film industry is for productions to have a working title either because the project doesn't have a decided-upon name yet or to disguise the real nature of a project, such as filming in a public place. Fans have become adept about finding out the working titles for Marvel Studios productions.

Recently, there was some confusion about which working title belonged to which, but it has been clarified that Captain Marvel 2 is filming under “Goat Rodeo” while Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will operate with “Dust Bunny.”

Other funny working titles that have been found are “The Big Salad” for Thor: Love and Thunder and amusingly “Hot Christmas” with Guardians of the Guardians Vol. 3 , which could end up itself being a Christmas movie.

Despite the tragic passing of actor Chadwick Boseman, filming for Black Panther 2 is still planned to begin this July , and a working title for the production has been discovered.

Production Weekly (via The Ronin ) is reporting that the working title for Black Panther 2 is “Summer Break.”

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR WAKANDA

It's not always the case, but the working titles for Marvel Studios productions, in some way, relate to the projects. The working title for The Avengers was “Group Hug,” a film about the team finally learning to work together, or even the original Black Panther having “Motherland” as the working title in reference to Wakanda.

A summer break is the “break” between school years over the summer, hence “summer break.” So, this could perhaps be in reference to T'Challa's sister, Shuri, who would still be at least 18 years old due to having been one of many who were “blipped away” when Thanos snapped his fingers.

Additionally, at the end of Black Panther , Shuri referenced Disneyland and Coachella, two popular summer break destinations.

Regardless of whether this working title has any sort of meaning to it, it's another sign of production for the Black Panther sequel moving forward.

Black Panther 2 is currently scheduled to release in theaters on July 8, 2022 .
