In the non-canon dimension of the DC Extended Universe, HBO Max is currently hosting the debut for Zack Snyder’s Justice League , giving fans a handful of teases for what the future of the franchise could have held after the four-hour epic. As for what’s coming down the canon pipeline, Warner Bros. and DC are still hard at work preparing numerous solo features for release in the next few years.

While some of these are nearly finished and waiting to release like James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad , others are still preparing to begin the real legwork in terms of filming and production. Included in the latter group is possibly the DCEU movie with the most uncertainty surrounding it: Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam .

About a week ago, early set photos teased some of the intergalactic elements set to be explored in this anti-hero’s solo movie , even though filming hasn’t started yet. However, a new social media blast indicates that this is about to change soon.

NEW SET PHOTOS FROM BLACK ADAM

A recent photo leak via vanzekin018 on Instagram shows the construction of sets being built for the Black Adam movie production. While it’s hard to tell specifically what the set will be, the second and third pictures appear to be some kind of enclosed ancient tomb made of stone.

The post also indicates that filming for Black Adam will begin sometime in the next couple of weeks.

BLACK ADAM PRODUCTION IMMINENT

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s titular character is classically based in some interesting middle-eastern mythology. While there are no plot details known for his first DCEU solo movie yet, it’s clear that this adventure will take a deep dive into that mythology as he is brought to the silver screen for the first time.

This set could potentially be some ancient landmarks from Black Adam’s home country, Kahndaq. Additionally, with Sarah Shahi set to play a Kahndaq professor alongside Johnson, it would make sense that much of the story will take place in this fictional land.

That being said, it will be exciting to find out what this set looks like once all the wood and cardboard are dressed up and decorated for shooting. This solo adventure is set to introduce multiple exciting stories and characters from DC Comics , which should help bring a massive introduction for one of the franchise’s iconic anti-heroes.

Black Adam will begin production in the near future, although the film doesn’t have a release date yet.
