The Batman may have wrapped last month, but it still has a long way to go before it's released. Multiple set and merchandise leaks happened during production, such as a new look at Robert Pattinson's Batman costume and Zoë Kravitz's Catwoman racing alongside the Dark Crusader.
As the film's release is still a ways off, marketing won't start for at least a couple more months. However, it seems like some of that marketing has already leaked, showing the cast and crew talking about Catwoman.
THE BATMAN'S HEROIC CAT BURGLAR
A snippet of promotional interviews from Matt Reeves' The Batman leaked, focused on Zoë Kravitz's Catwoman.
The video opens with the director, Reeves, discussing how he wanted to avoid telling the origin of Batman again, but that it “was sort of in his early days,” meaning the same for his rogues' gallery:
“I wanted to see a Batman that was not an origin tale, but was sort of in his early days, but that meant that a lot of the characters who are the rogues' gallery characters are in their origins in a way. So, we have a Selina Kyle who's not yet Catwoman.”
The actress herself, Kravitz, talked about the cat burglar and how she “wants to fight for those who don't have someone else to fight for them,” which is what causes a connection to form between her and The Dark Knight:
“Selina can take care of herself, she's incredibly tough. She really wants to fight for those who don't have someone else to fight for them and I think that is where Batman and she really connect.”
Producer Dylan Clark described Ms. Kyle as someone who “represents the savior for the ill-treated” but whose loyalties aren't quite clear:
“What's most interesting about Selina Kyle is that she represents the savior for the ill-treated, the forgotten, the people that have not had anybody looking after them. She's also very complicated. You don't quite know where her loyalty or allegiance lay."

CLASSIC SELINA KYLE FOR ZOE KRAVITZ
The way that these interviews describe the anti-hero lines up with the comics, which isn't too hard since she's a classic case of a thief with a heart of gold.
As for her loyalty, fans will likely see her aligning herself with criminals whose hearts aren't quite as golden as her own. This could also mean that Ms. Kyle will be out for herself more in her humble beginnings as a cat burglar.
Regardless, it will be exciting to see how her character develops over the course of this trilogy of films, whether it ends with a romance blooming between her and Batman or if Selina ends up turning over a new leaf. No matter what, Zoë Kravitz is bound to put on an engaging performance.
Robert Pattinson's The Batman is currently scheduled to release in theaters on March 4, 2022.
