Batgirl is one of the upcoming DCEU projects that will soon stream on HBO Max in 2022. The film is directed by Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, and it will feature the DC debut of In The Heights star Leslie Grace as the titular Caped Crusader. Grace will be joined by a stellar cast that includes the likes of Jacob Scipio, Brendan Fraser as Firefly, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, and Michael Keaton as Batman.
Little is known about Batgirl's storyline, but it is expected to tackle the crime-ridden streets of Gotham City. Reports indicate that Firefly is the film's main villain, but it's possible that more foes could spell trouble for the DCEU heroine.
Production is now ongoing for Batgirl in Scotland, meaning that set photos have emerged online. One of the first photos indicated a connection to Ezra Miller's The Flash since the film is using the same GCPD logo from the big screen entry.
Now, a brand-new image from Batgirl's production has teased an interesting Batman villain.
A Potential Hugo Strange Sighting?
Craig Williams, a reporter from Glasgow Live, shared a new set photo from Batgirl's production in Glasgow, Scotland.
The image shows a poster showcasing a mysterious man with a sinister smile in the streets of Gotham City:

Many fans believe that the man in question is Batman villain Hugo Strange, mainly because he resembles this artwork of the character from the pages of DC Comics:
Gotham's Dangerous Villains
It is unknown if this image is Hugo Strange, but many would agree that it closely resembles the Batman villain.
In the pages of DC Comics, Bruce Wayne once described Hugo Strange as someone who is "undoubtedly the greatest organizer of crime in the world." It's possible that Brendan Fraser's Firefly is working for Strange in the movie, thus spelling more trouble for the female Caped Crusader. There's also a chance that Strange's experiments would've led to the birth of Firefly in the film.
Strange is best known to be fixated on Batman's secret identity, and this obsession could happen in the movie. Given that Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne is involved, there's a chance that Strange could be in pursuit of Gotham's hero but instead ends up with a fateful encounter with Leslie Grace's heroine.
It's worth pointing out that Hugo Strange is a character who embraces fame, thus giving credence to this poster that can be found in the streets of Gotham. If the image is not Strange, then another worthy candidate could be Carmine Falcone, a powerful mob boss in Gotham, or Sal Maroni, an infamous gangster.
Whatever the case, it's safe to say that Barbara Gordon will be put to the test in Batgirl due to the influx of villains in Gotham.
Batgirl is set to premiere on HBO Max sometime in 2022.
