The ground-breaking success of The Mandalorian on Disney+ has catapulted the world of Star Wars to the forefront of pop culture in a way the sequel trilogy struggled to do. Din Djarin's action-packed adventures across the galaxy with Baby Yoda have seen the duo bump into plenty of familiar faces from the wider world including Bo-Katan Kryze, Boba Fett, and Ahsoka Tano, some of which have already spawned spin-offs.

The Book of Boba Fett recently became the first spin-off series to spawn out of Jon Favreau's MandoVerse, and while it may have somewhat become The Mandalorian Season 2.5, it still delivered plenty of thrills.

Not the least of which came in the series' sixth episode, which saw Din Djarin travel to visit Baby Yoda and set up appearances from Luke Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. Having served as the Clone Wars-era Padawan to Anakin Skywalker, seeing Tano come face-to-face with the son of the legendary Sith lord was an exciting surprise.

But it appears that it wasn't just audiences who were surprised to see Ahsoka finally meeting Luke Skywalker.

In a recent post on Twitter, The Mandalorian's Ahsoka Tano actress Rosario Dawson shared her ecstatic reaction to working with Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker on The Book of Boba Fett Episode 6.

In response to a fan questioning her excitement to share the screen with Luke Skywalker, Dawson revealed she "was freaking out" and is "still pinching [herself]" that she had the chance to work with Hamill:

"Are you kidding?! I was freaking out. I’m still pinching myself that I got to work with MARK HAMILL as AHSOKA. I didn’t know my scene was with LUKE till day of…!"

The Ahsoka star went on to reveal she only discovered on the "day of filming" that her scenes on The Book of Boba Fett would be shared with Luke Skywalker himself, a legend in the Star Wars franchise.

The Marvel Secrecy of The MandoVerse

Lucasfilm has truly taken Marvel Studios' infamous reputation of secrecy in stride with its Star Wars Disney+ series. The trailers for The MandalorianThe Book of Boba Fett, and Obi-Wan Kenobi have made a point of avoiding any specific story details and have omitted many major characters.

This concept has run all across Disney+'s blockbuster projects, Baby Yoda/Grogu wasn't even revealed until The Mandalorian premiered its first episode. Since then, Lucasfilm has done an excellent job of keeping the biggest surprises behind lock and key, including the appearances of Luke Skywalker, Cad Bane, and many more.

In order to maintain the intense levels of secrecy, it's vital that a minimal portion of the cast and crew are aware of what's happening on set. Director Jon Favreau has previously described how few crew members were on set for Luke Skywalker's The Mandalorian cameo, while most were told the aforementioned Jedi appearance would be from The Clone Wars' Plo Koon

Nonetheless, many will be surprised to hear even the actress in question was kept out of the loop on the details of her own scenes, but no doubt working with the Star Wars legend generated quite the reaction from Rosario Dawson.

The Ahsoka actress will no doubt be kept more in the know in the future as she prepares to greatly increase her role in the MandoVerse, with her own Disney+ series expected to begin filming this year for a Spring 2023 premiere. For now, The Book of Boba Fett is streaming now, exclusively on Disney+.
