Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to continue exploring the concept of alternate realities after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer will return alongside Wong, Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, and Xochitl Gomez's Miss America, a new Marvel hero whose powers are tied to the Multiverse.

Multiverse of Madness will mark Strange's second solo adventure in the MCU after several outings with Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The upcoming sequel is still shrouded in secrecy with its plot details being heavily guarded by Marvel snipers.

Despite that, the sequel's rumor mill managed to give fans a clue about Strange's next chapter. It's been revealed that Shuma Gorath will serve as the main villain alongside powerful creatures such as Gargantos

The presence of such creatures likely suggests that more of their kind will debut in the movie. Now, it appears that another mystical addition has been unveiled through official merchandise from the film.

This latest batch of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness collectibles provides a special preview of the core characters that will be featured in the sequel. Doctor Strange is front and center in his next MCU adventure, with Wong, Scarlet Witch, and Miss America likely providing support.

Meanwhile, Baron Mordo's new look suggests that he could be a different version of the one that fans saw during 2016's Doctor Strange, potentially coming from an alternate universe. It's worth noting that the MCU's Mordo chose a villainous path, but this Variant could instead be on the side of the heroes for a change.

If this Mordo is indeed a Variant, it will be interesting to find out how the MCU's version would react when he comes face-to-face with his alternate self.

On a separate note, Rintrah's arrival could hint that a vital plot point from the comics will be featured in live-action. For those unaware, Rintrah is an intelligent being with magical potential from the planet R'Vaal.

Rintrah's first encounter with Strange revolved around the Cloak of Levitation. After being torn in battle, the mystical Monitaur repaired the Cloak. A blue version of the magical garment was later given to Rintrah by Strange.

The Direct previously reported that Rintrah could be portrayed by 1917's Adam Hugill. Given that a well-known actor is likely playing the character, this could hint that Rintrah has a bright MCU future that will ultimately lead to his transition as Strange's apprentice down the line.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to premiere in theaters on May 6, 2022.
