Marvel Studios had a lot of great projects going for it last year. It launched its Disney+ shows, including Emmy-winning stories with WandaVision and the introduction of the Multiverse through Loki. It then released a whopping four different movies, including Black WidowShang-Chi, and another critically acclaimed Spider-Man entry led by Tom Holland. But what part of it all was the ultimate fan-favorite addition to the MCU?

The number one favorite was arguably No Way Home. With it being one of the most successful films of all time and bringing together multiple generations of webheads, there’s almost no contest.

The runner-up, however, was the surprise overnight sensation of Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, who was first introduced in Black Widow. Her character has gotten intense love, and her recent appearance in Hawkeye only cemented those favorable conversations.

Now, what if Marvel Studios were to put those two things together?

In an interview with the BBC, Spider-Man: No Way Home star Tom Holland talked about his desire to work alongside Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, who has appeared in both Black Widow and Hawkeye.

Holland confirmed that while “it hasn’t been suggested to the big bosses yet,” they hope to “make that happen:”

"It hasn't been suggested to the big bosses yet, but Florence and I have definitely spoken about it, and hopefully, one day, we can make that happen. That would be very cool.”

The Holland& Pugh Team-Up

With how loved both Tom Holland and Florence Pugh are, putting the two of them together in a story would result in nothing but success. Just thinking of all the possible interactions is enough to excite the masses immediately.

But how would the two end up crossing paths? The obvious answer would be none other than Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin. The villain is bound to run into Spider-Man at some point given their comic history, and with Yelena’s connection to the big man (revealed in Hawkeye), all the pieces are on the board.

If Marvel Studios wanted to, it could up the ante and throw Charlie Cox’s Daredevil into the mix as well. Where Kingpin goes, the devil of Hell’s Kitchen tends to follow closely behind.

The future of the MCU has never been more consistently exciting, with the storytelling possibilities being endless. Hopefully, Holland and Pugh’s team-up can be one of those that make it to the screen.
