Titans quickly rose to popularity when it debuted on the DC Universe streaming app last 2018. The show relied heavily on its darker tone and captivating characters, earning the admiration of DC diehards everywhere. While the series had its fair share of ups and downs since then, the second season proved to be a turning point for the franchise, showcasing Dick Grayson's transformation to Nightwing while also promising fans more team-ups down the line.
Given that, the upcoming season of Titans is expected to heavily feature the superhero team united from the get-go, especially after the events of last season's finale. Production for the third season is now underway, with numerous images from the set of the DC series already making their way online. While there is no release date yet for the upcoming season, it was already confirmed that Titans will debut on HBO Max this time around.
Not only that, DC and Titans recently unveiled the first look at Curran Walters as Red Hood, boosting fan excitement ahead of the character's debut this season. Now, another look at one of the core characters of the show has been released.
In a post from Instagram, Titans cinematographer Boris Mojsovski shared a new behind-the-scenes image of Anna Diop as Starfire.
"All right you crazy people - finally here is a picture of our lovely and talented Anna @the_annadiop #titans #titansseason3 @dctitans @dccomics @thedcuniverse @hbomax #diva #cinematography #canadiancinematographer @shelton9mil"
While this image doesn't reveal much, it still managed to hype up the return of Anna Diop's Starfire for the upcoming third season of Titans. It is expected that Diop will play a much larger role this time around, especially after the reveal from DC FanDome that Starfire's sister, Blackfire, will serve as one of the chief antagonists of the show.
The image also hints that Starfire could soon wear her comic-accurate costume. It was previously leaked that Diop was supposed to wear a more comic-accurate suit during the season one finale, but this plan was ultimately scrapped. On top of that, the previous season didn't manage to showcase the comic-accurate suit of Starfire either.
Despite that, this new tease could very well hint that Titans will soon honor the comic book roots of the character, paving the way for Diop to wear Starfire's costume next season. In addition, the image seems to reveal Diop's hairstyle will also pay homage to Starfire's comic-accurate look. In a way, this bodes well for fans of both the franchise and the Starfire character.
Whatever the case, it's clear that Diop's Starfire will serve as one of the main anchors of the next chapter of Titans' storytelling.
