The Mandalorian Season 2's story is finally off and running. After a dramatic beginning to the season that culminated in the reveal of Boba Fett, things slowed down with a smaller adventure involving creepy spiders. However, the latest episode brought fan-favorite Bo-Katan Kryze into the fold, setting up her hunt for the Darksaber, the mission to reclaim Mandalore, and Din Djarin's quest to find Ahsoka Tano.
How exactly things shake out from there remains a bit of a mystery. Mando mentioned the need to deal with something before he could continue on his journey, and he'll need to get the Razor Crest functioning beyond the point of relying on fish nets to hold it together. There have been hints and implications over the last several weeks for where "Chapter 12" could go, and the official title and plot description finally reveal what's to come...
NEWS
IMDb has reported that the title for the upcoming episode of The Mandalorian will be "Chapter 12 - The Siege." Additionally, the plot description was released and can be seen below:
WHAT THIS MEANS
We seemingly now know that Carl Weathers' "Chapter 12" will not only be his directorial debut for The Mandalorian, but also the return of Greef Karga. Gina Carano's Cara Dune will also be appearing, and this episode will likely present the last of the footage seen in the trailer.
It's pretty clear that "The Siege" refers to the scrum between Mando and his friends and the Imperial Remnant forces on Nevarro. The Mythrol from "Chapter 1" will have some kind of role in the episode, making the possibility of a jailbreak at the Imperial facility fairly high.
Why exactly Mando is taking on the Remnant's facility is an enigma. Perhaps he's returned to Nevarro to get the Razor Crest properly repaired and pick up his pals for the journey to find Ahsoka? Or maybe he gets reeled into yet another unexpected battle, this time to permanently remove the Imperial forces from Nevarro? Could Moff Gideon make his in-person return?
Significant plot developments could be happening here. With no footage from the episodes to follow "Chapter 12" out in the world, there's a good chance season-altering things could happen that will bring Mando's allies back into the fold for the long run. Din Djarin's situation will only grow more dire, and he'll need all the help he can get if he's to successfully reach Ahsoka Tano and defeat Moff Gideon.
