The Mandalorian is officially back! The smash hit Star Wars series officially premiered the very first episode of its second season on Friday, October 30. The season opener reportedly brought in big numbers for the streaming service, so it should come as no surprise whatsoever that Disney and Lucasfilm are already developing a third season.
Also floating around are rumors of a spinoff of the mega popular streaming program which is rumored to be in the works despite season three not even being officially, publicly greenlit yet.
NEWS
Deadline is reporting that Chicago Med actress Sophie Thatcher is rumored to play a role in The Mandalorian season three or potentially a spinoff thereof. It's also rumored that whatever character Thatcher might be playing could possibly show up in both the main series and the potential spinoff.
WHAT THIS MEANS
With Mando season two only on its second episode, it seems crazy to already be speculating about a third season let alone a spinoff. After all, the premiere installment brought fans so many things to speculate and obsess over already.
Thatcher, who is 20 years old, has made appearances on the NBC drama Chicago Med and recently appeared in Quibi's When the Streetlights Go On in a main role. She has been acting since childhood.
It's impossible to know what role or character Sophie Thatcher could be playing in the Star Wars universe at this stage in the game. However, Ahsoka Tano will be making her grand, live action debut. Perhaps Thatcher will be connected to the fan-favorite the Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels character?
Again, it's far too soon to make any sort of firm estimate, but it is a fun pastime for many fans to play casting director and find various roles for actors themselves.
The Mandalorian will return for another episode on Friday, November 6, 2020 with "Chapter 10."
