The much-anticipated arrival of the second season of The Mandalorian is inching closer, and fans are already gearing up for its premiere on Disney+. On the flip side, Disney and Lucasfilm have been going all-in in terms of the marketing push for The Mandalorian in the past weeks, releasing a wide array of posters and trailers to hype up fans.

It comes as no surprise that the anticipation for the upcoming season of The Mandalorian is sky-high, especially after the massive success of its debut season. The first season received multiple Emmy awards while the debut of Baby Yoda earned the admiration of many fans.

Now, the second season will look to elevate the narrative by reintroducing iconic Star Wars characters such as Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, and Boba Fett. The latter proved to be intriguing since the series will finally address the bounty hunter's true fate after the events of Return of the Jedi. Now, a new report may shed some light on Lucasfilm's plans for Boba Fett moving forward.

RUMOR

Star Wars News Net shared in a report that Yakface, a Star Wars toy reporting site, unearthed evidence that Lucasfilm recently updated the Boba Fett trademark. The evidence can be seen below.

The outlet then pointed out that this could lead to the creation of new merchandise tied to the character, potentially hinting that there is an imminent big push for Boba Fett soon.

WHAT THIS MEANS

While fans can take this rumor with a grain of salt, it looks like Boba Fett's imminent arrival in The Mandalorian will come sooner rather than later. A few months back, The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau cast doubt about the rumored appearance of Boba Fett in the show, indicating that the famed bounty hunter only served as an inspiration to Mando.

Despite that, this new evidence seemingly suggests that Favreau's comment was just to divert attention away from Boba Fett before ultimately revealing the character's surprise appearance within the show, similar to how they kept Baby Yoda a close secret during the first season.

It was reported previously that Temuera Morrison will return in The Mandalorian as Boba Fett, but details about his role are, unsurprisingly, still being kept under wraps. Given that, not much is known about the role of Boba Fett in the upcoming narrative of the series, but the previously-released TV spot might offer some clues on how it ties together.

It was mentioned during the TV spot that Mando is trying to find other Mandalorians to "guide" him in his quest to return the Child to the Jedi. It is unclear if Mando knows Boba Fett, but there's a chance that he might end up finding the famous bounty hunter during his galactic journey. This presents an opportunity for Boba Fett's involvement to heavily tie with the overarching narrative of the series, instead of a glorified cameo.

Whatever the case, the updated trademark of Boba Fett presents a vast amount of possibilities for the character moving forward, potentially hinting that the future is bright for the bounty hunter.
