Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios brought Spider-Man: No Way Home to the world after two years of internet-breaking announcements and leaks teasing the Multiversal romp. All things considered, the threequel turned into one of the MCU's biggest success stories with villains like the Green Goblin and Doc Ock taking on all three cinematic Spider-Men, bringing fans back to theaters in a big way.

No Way Home was filled with countless moments that brought cheers from the Spidey fandom, from Andrew Garfield's "Peter 3" saving Zendaya's MJ to Tobey Maguire's hero reuniting with former mentor Otto Octavius. However, this also came with some of the most brutal scenes in the franchise's history too, one of them being Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin unleashing hell on Tom Holland's Spider-Man.

Reports hinted toward No Way Home bringing some of the most intense Green Goblin action to ever hit the screen, and it didn't disappoint when Norman Osborn's personality turned on its head after Peter cured Octavius.

Recently, that moment was highlighted through a round of concept art that showed a new look at the duel that changed the course of the story.

New Concept Art Highlights Spider-Man vs. Green Goblin

Spider-Man: No Way Home concept artist Marek Okon took to Twitter to share new concept art featuring the fight between Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin.

The first piece shows Spider-Man flat on his back with pieces of the roof on top of him and papers flying in the air around him. The caption that came with the pic teased the "final moments" of the intense fight at the end of No Way Home's second act:

"This feels like a proper Monday drop ;] Another concept for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Final moments of the fight with Goblin at Happys apartment building."

The second piece shows the Goblin pummeling Spider-Man through one of the floors of Happy Hogan's apartment complex as rubble from the roof falls along with the hero and villain. Included with the post was the following caption:

"And here is our power couple crashing through the ceiling just moments before"

Goblin Lays a Beatdown on Spider-Man

Rumors had pointed to the Green Goblin being the main villain of Spider-Man: No Way Home, even with five worthy contenders for that title coming into play through the Multiverse for the MCU threequel. Willem Dafoe's returning antagonist took that status in a big way, particularly as Peter sensed the character's personality change in a split second before turning Happy's apartment into a battleground.

Dafoe had the chance to truly show his acting chops this time around with the Goblin, putting Norman "on sabbatical" and giving fans a look at how terrifying his villain could really be. He even proved to be one of the strongest characters in the entire MCU, possibly more so than Captain America, as he punished Peter physically before killing Aunt May.

In a movie filled with wild action sequences and emotional story beats, this scene left an imprint on fans as a piece of Spidey's cinematic past made its mark on the hero's present situation. Although the ultimate battle finished with a victory for the heroes, it was far from an easy road getting to that point thanks to arguably Spidey's biggest arch-nemesis.
