As the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicks back into gear again, the team behind the magic is making progress on more than a handful of new projects. Nine movies and Disney+ projects are set to release in 2021 after WandaVision, but none have as much hype surrounding them as the last one releasing this year: Spider-Man 3.
Rumors have pointed to this film being a game-changer in the MCU, continuing with the multiverse after it's likely introduced in WandaVision over the next few weeks. There are reports from multiple sources confirming nearly a dozen high-profile names from every live-action Spider-Man series in this next outing as Tom Holland's MCU web-slinger teams up with Doctor Strange for a wild ride.
For everything that's been said about this movie thus far, there is still no word on any specific plot details. This has not only left fans in the dark, but some of the movie's cast members as well.
ZENDAYA MAKING SPIDER-MAN 3 PARTIALLY BLIND
In a new interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Spider-Man 3 star Zendaya revealed that she is still in the dark on many plot specifics for the upcoming film. When asked how good she was at keeping secrets Zendaya shed some light on how she oftentimes doesn't actually know the secrets she has to keep:
"Here’s the thing people, I don’t think, fully understand, is that I don’t know everything either. Sometimes, literally, I will read something on the internet, and I will have to text our producers, I will have to text our director, and be like ‘Is this true?’ Because I really don’t know. So I wish I could offer a lot of information, because sometimes, I don’t know unless I ask. We’re sometimes a little bit in the dark as well."

ZENDAYA CAN'T SPILL WHAT SHE DOESN'T KNOW
Marvel Studios is well known for keeping major spoilers out of the news as long as possible before projects premiere publicly. Considering how big Spider-Man 3 is becoming, it's not shocking that even one of the movie's biggest stars doesn't know a lot about what's going on.
Zendaya's MJ is set to continue from her first two appearances in the MCU as her relationship with Peter Parker grows and evolves. Set pictures have indicated some potential troubles between the young pair, which feels like nothing compared to the multitude of villains and multiversal madness New York's teen hero will have to tackle.
This quote from one of the film's core members likely means that the plot is being kept, at least partially, hidden from others as well, particularly with leading man Tom Holland's past penchant for revealing spoilers. It should be a while before anything concrete releases in regard to what's happening in the third web-slinger solo film. Despite this, it will be sure to make waves across the MCU fandom when information does arrive.
The untitled Spider-Man 3 is currently filming and is expected to release in theaters on December 17, 2021.
