Tony Stark: Popular MCU character or most popular MCU character? The box office doesn't lie, given that most of the films in which he appeared easily cracked a billion dollars and then some.

Sure, Tony's character was always cool, witty, and likable, but behind Iron Man was fan-favorite actor Robert Downey Jr., who of course needs no introduction. But if he did, one should be aware that Downey essentially served as the face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over a decade and appeared in ten films as Tony Stark/Iron Man.

With the pandemic disrupting the bulk of 2020, most bands haven't been able to go on tour and share their music with fans. But perhaps Iron Man himself could be called upon to lend an armored hand.

NEWS

Famous heavy metal band Metallica will be hosting a benefit concert on Saturday, November 14 to support communities in need during this very much prolonged global pandemic. Appearing as a special guest will be none other than Mr. Robert Downey Jr.

And to promote the event, RDJ shared the following video on Twitter, complete with the actor sporting a very familiar piece of handwear.

Downey gave the sign of the horns with his Nano Gauntlet at the end of the video, as shown below:

WHAT THIS MEANS

A virtual concert being put on for charity AND featuring an appearance by Robert Downey Jr? Marvel and metal fans alike should be delighted by this news, especially since it's all for a good cause.

Interestingly enough, Downey is wearing a toy version of the same device that led to his untimely demise in 2019's Avengers: Endgame. The specialized gauntlet was designed to contain and harness the power of all six Infinity Stones.

Fans will surely recall that gauntlet and the stones ended up in the hands of the villainous Thanos before being swiped at the last second by Tony. Stark then used the gauntlet to erase Thanos and his multitude of forces from the battlefield, turning them all to dust and killing Tony in the process.

Fans have of course been clamoring for additional Tony Stark ever since, and while famously, no one stays dead in comic book-related media except for Spider-Man's Uncle Ben, it does seem as though Tony's passing will be one that sticks.
