Slowly but surely, life seems to be inching toward a return to normalcy after the roughest few months in recent memory. In the movie industry, major studios have finally been given the green light to restart shooting as fans start counting down the days until their most anticipated projects release to the public.

Marvel Studios is right in the thick of the madness with multiple projects well underway already. Black Widow and The Eternals are in the deepest stages of post-production for theatrical release while Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is still waiting on when the cast and crew can resume filming.

The MCU's new era on Disney+ is also on its way to its imminent debut with production on WandaVision reportedly finished, and filming is also likely to resume soon for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. While the studio has a number of other new shows much earlier on in development as well, exciting news has just come that should bring cheers and celebration all over the globe.

NEWS

A new release from Murphy's Multiverse has detailed imminent plans for the upcoming Disney+ mini-series Ms. Marvel to resume the earliest stages of its production. The casting process has resumed to find the series' leading actress, and filming could possibly commence as early as the end of Summer 2020 as the state of Georgia begins to open up and allow film projects to recommence.

WHAT THIS MEANS

This release is potentially some of the most exciting news that Marvel Studios and its fans have had all year considering all of the challenges the world has had to overcome to this point. While Ms. Marvel still doesn't have an official release date yet, the series should still have plenty of time to complete its filming and VFX work by its originally planned 2022 release year.

Kamala Khan has been one of the most highly discussed and anticipated casting decisions in the MCU's recent history considering how unique she is amongst the franchise's dozens of heroes. She is set to be the first Muslim hero in the MCU and will bring a brand new perspective to viewers as one of the youngest heroes in the series outside of Peter Parker and his friends from Spider-Man

No plot details have been revealed for the new series, although the expectation is that it will detail Kamala getting her stretchy powers and show how she works her way through being both a teenager and a hero. There are also rumors pointing to a potential reboot of the Inhumans somewhere in the plot, which would be an exciting new rebirth of the characters alongside Kamala.

Ms. Marvel is set to debut on Disney+ sometime in 2022. With the news of both filming and the end of the casting process potentially coming soon, it should only be a matter of time before more big reveals make their way into the news stream.
