Disney+ is now well into its second year of existence, and its brand power is strong with consumers. The first two seasons of The Mandalorian were among the biggest draws to the platform in its first year, and now that original series' set in the MCU have begun rolling out onto the streaming service, it's no wonder why Disney+ is one of the major players in what followers of the entertainment industry are calling the "streaming wars."

When Disney+ first debuted back in 2019, one method of promotion for the service consisted of a series of advertisements featuring scenes of characters from all of Disney's biggest franchises, with both Star Wars and Marvel properties among the most prominent.

Now, a video with a similar format has been created to air during Sunday's Academy Awards telecast, though this one has a few noticeable differences in delivery and messaging...

The 30-second video is entitled "A New Beginning - The Stories Continue" and, as confirmed by AdWeek , is narrated by Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki in the MCU. This decision is fitting considering with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier 's finale now having been released, Loki is the next Marvel Disney+ series on the docket.

The advertisement focuses on projects made specifically for the platform that serve as continuations to popular titles of the past. It begins with a shot of Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back before cutting to one of Grogu in The Mandalorian . A little later, a shot of a tender moment between Wanda Maximoff and Vision in Avengers: Infinity War is immediately followed by another of the two in WandaVision .

Similar juxtapositions occur with shots of other Star Wars and Marvel characters, some of which include Doctor Strange in Infinity War and What If...? , Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The First Avenger and The Falcon and the Winter Solider , Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars Rebels and The Mandalorian , and Monica Rambeau in Captain Marvel and WandaVision .

There is no new footage from any of the Star Wars or Marvel projects, but a new clip from the upcoming Turner & Hooch reboot can briefly be seen at one point during the video.

DISNEY+ IS EXPANDING THE STORIES OF STAR WARS AND MARVEL

This promo plays heavily into the reboot and story continuation trend that the entertainment industry has seen a rise in during the last decade or so. It's no secret that most of Disney+'s biggest hits so far have been expansions of franchises beloved by fans all over the world to the point where they serve as the main motivation to subscribe to the platform for many consumers.

While there is no footage of Loki present in the video, Tom Hiddleston is a fitting choice to narrate as the advertisement may hint at a possible element of the upcoming series. While Loki's status as the God of Mischief has been his main title in the MCU, he is also sometimes referred to as the God of Stories in Norse mythology, and this trailer is all about the continuation of beloved stories in the form of Disney+ originals.

This could indicate that this compilation is intended to be narrated by Loki rather than simply Hiddleston as himself, but there are no direct nods to the character in the trailer, so it's impossible to definitively tell either way.

Loki premieres on Disney+ June 11.
