The MCU is set to introduce fans to their first animated series this summer with What If...?. This series will be narrator by Jefferey Wright, who plays The Watcher, and is a "reimagining famous events from the films in unexpected ways" according to the official programming sheet from Disney Investor Day 2020.
What If...? will feature Peggy Carter as Captain Britain, Winter Solider against zombie Captain America, a retelling of Dr. Strange, and Chadwick Boseman's final performance as T'Challa Star-Lord. More characters like Hawkeye, Iron Man, and Captain Marvel were teased during the official first look, but now it has been revealed that even more characters will appear in the animated series.

WHAT THIS MEANS
In the firect look at What If...?, The Watcher tells the audience that they will be guided "through these vast new realities." It is clear that there are more stories yet to be revealed for this upcoming series with endless possibilities.
After Bradley's confirmation, fans should be ready for multiple surprises when they watch these stories that flip the script. Looking back to when What If...? was first announced at 2019's San Diego Comic-Con, there are many actors set to reprise their roles that we have not seen footage of. A few of note are Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, and Josh Brolin as Thanos.
None of these characters appeared in the first look trailer, so those could be some of the most likely "MCU cameos." We do get glimpses at Nick Fury, Hawkeye, and Loki during the teaser, but it is unclear what episodes they are featured in. This leads to Bradley's mention of possible connectivity between realities when she says, "characters can and do pop up in more than one episode!" If a character is appearing in more than one episode, will we see characters travel inter dimensionally? Or maybe, perhaps, they'll portray the same character in multiple realities?
What If...? will be answered sometime during the summer of 2021.
