Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings released in theaters earlier this month, and with it came another resounding success for the MCU. Marvel Studios once again successfully pulled a character from obscurity into the spotlight. The Guardians of the Galaxy would be proud.

Marvel looks to be doing it once again with the next film on the schedule, Eternals, which is directed by Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao. According to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Zhao's pitch was among the best he has ever heard—so expectations are high.

Plenty of new images have been released recently, showcasing the beautiful visuals that await fans in just a few months' time. Still, though, it's not 100% clear what audiences can expect going into the film.

Now, thanks to the MPAA, fans know more of what to expect when walking in the theaters.

The MPAA has officially revealed the official rating for Marvel Studios' upcoming film Eternals:

"Rated PG-13 for fantasy violence and action, some language and brief sexuality."

Violence, Language, and... Brief Sexuality?

One's mind may go to a lot of places when they think of brief sexuality, but it's probably not what's expected. In the case of Eternals, the "brief sexuality" is likely to refer to Phastos' husband. The MPAA has been historically behind the times, having been a lot more strict and biased against LGBTQIA+ relationships.

As for the other two things, well, that's just the standard MCU affair. That's not to say Eternals is going to be a standard experience; Marvel would like the MCU faithful to believe it to be anything but.

There's a lot of ground-breaking stuff at play during the film, not to mention the epic scale that the film takes place over—introducing the Celestials to the MCU is no small feat after all.

Fans can watch Eternals when it premieres in theaters worldwide on November 5, 2021.
