Marvel's Hawkeye: New Evidence Supports Hailee Steinfeld's Addition To MCU Cast

Marvel Studios' Hawkeye will see Jeremy Renner return to the role of the famously accurate archer, trying to pick up the pieces in a post- Avengers: Endgame world.

Confirmed to be tagging along for the ride is Clint Barton's protege from the pages of Marvel Comics. Teenager Kate Bishop will indeed appear in the upcoming Disney+ series.

For months, fans have heard that Bumblebee 's Hailee Steinfeld was Marvel's favorite choice to portray the character. However, her potential casting in the show was seemingly complicated by her commitments to another project.

NEWS

Director pair Bert & Bertie , who are confirmed to be working on Hawkeye , have followed Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld on Instagram, which would seem to suggest that Steinfeld has indeed been cast as Kate Bishop for the series.

WHAT THIS MEANS

Now, it can often be easy to read too far into things, especially when it comes to news on popular franchises. Speculating about their favorite properties is just what fans do best.

In this case, though, while it is perhaps a slight leap to say that Hailee Steinfeld is officially confirmed as Kate Bishop for Hawkeye , it does make a fair deal of sense. After all, why would these two directors, who are confirmed to be on board for the show, follow her on Instagram at the same time that they follow series star Jeremy Renner. Things just seem to add up.

In any case, fans could possibly expect an official casting announcement in the coming months. Or not. Marvel Studios has been keeping their cards kind of close to the vest lately.
