Hello there.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series has been one of the most anticipated Star Wars projects by a huge margin. The opportunity to see Ewan McGregor reprise the role as a now exiled hermit has been high on the fan wishlist since Disney acquired Lucasfilm, and the time to see our old friend return to the screen has nearly come.

While the Obi-Wan show wasn't originally conceived as a TV series, the creative heads behind the show have said that the Disney+ format will allow for more story than a film would have. The highly regarded Deborah Chow was tapped for directorial duties , but production on the series was delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

With the film and television industry now operating again, the Obi-Wan show is a go - and the title and release details have finally been announced...

During the Disney Investor's Day event, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy officially announced that the Obi-Wan Kenobi series will include Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker.

Kennedy also confirmed that Christensen will also return as Darth Vader, teasing that the show will feature "the rematch of the century."

Christensen opened up about his return as the fan-favorite villain by expressing his excitement to reunite with Ewan McGregor:

“It was such an incredible journey playing Anakin Skywalker. Of course, Anakin and Obi-Wan weren’t on the greatest of terms when we last saw them… It will be interesting to see what an amazing director like Deborah Chow has in store for us all. I’m excited to work with Ewan again. It feels good to be back.”

After months of rumors, it's good to see confirmation that Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Christensen's return to the galaxy far, far away has long been sought by fans, and their wish will be realized when Kenobi premieres on Disney+.

With the show being set 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith , both Obi-Wan and Darth Vader have already changed throughout the years. No doubt, the next confrontation between the two former friends will be a must-see, and it will add another layer to their complicated relationship.

Given this reveal, a new twist to the final battle between Kenobi and Darth Vader during Star Wars: A New Hope will be unveiled , and it will be interesting to find out more of that story element.
