Promotional posters and merchandise have been pouring out for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, giving fans highlights of Wanda's new Scarlet Witch costume and the best look at America Chavez. A toy even gave fans a better look at one of the strangest new characters, Rintrah, a big, green Minotaur who is also a sorcerer and ally of Doctor Strange.
Even more revealing to fans was merchandise distinguishing "Defender Strange," who is a Variant of Strange sporting a ponytail. Although, how this Variant will factor into the plot of the Doctor Strange sequel is still unknown, as he's only seen falling through one of Miss America's star portals.
Now, new posters have found their way online showing off more of the characters in the Doctor Strange sequel.
More Posters Show Off Characters in Doctor Strange Sequel
Several new posters for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness appeared on Redwolf, an online store focused on licensed pop-culture apparel and accessories.
The most revealing poster is a complete look at Rintrah, a big, green minotaur who was briefly seen in the trailer for the Doctor Strange sequel being staggered by an explosion.
Another illuminating poster designates Chiwetel Ejiofor's Mordo, seen in the trailer, as "Master Mordo," reaffirming that he is indeed a Variant of Mordo. This one is likely the Sorcerer Supreme of his own reality, hence the honorific.
Wanda gets her own poster showcasing her new costume once again, although her cloak seems to be far shorter than in other promotional material.
Three posters also reaffirm that this sequel will indeed involve three distinct Variants of Doctor Strange, not just the one highlighted in the trailer.
It seems apparent from these posters that the seemingly evil Variant of Strange and this "Defender" Strange will have great importance in the sequel.
These two Variants of Doctor Strange could act as the sorcerer's potential for good and evil with the power he wields.
Finally, another mock comic cover showing America Chavez, Doctor Strange, Wanda Maximoff, and Wong preparing for a fight in an odd looking dimension.
The Good, the Bad, and the Strange
It's obvious that both Variants of Strange will play an essential role for Stephen as a character, representing all the good that Strange can do with his powers and also the damage. This interpretation is more apparent when both are framed in these posters, either on opposing sides of Doctor Strange or looming behind him like a devil and an angel.
This dynamic could parallel Wanda's journey as a character who is rumored to be a villain in this Doctor Strange sequel, despite her having once been an Avenger. So, it could prove to be an exciting exploration of Strange's depths as a hero and his future as the eventual next Sorcerer Supreme.
Fans will discover how these two Variants will interact with Stephen when Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness releases in theaters on May 6, 2022.
