Doctor Strange 2 is growing to astronomical proportions at the helm of director Sam Raimi, building a star-studded cast worthy of its reality-hopping title.

WandaVision's Elizabeth Olsen joined as a co-lead for Benedict Cumberbatchtagging along with the Sorcerer Supreme after Wanda Maximoff's adventures in Westview. Olsen's leap from her Disney+ series back to the big screen will be a notable transition, though the actress affirmed that it feels "all so earned."

Plenty of Doctor Strange characters will be returning for the sequel as well, including Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, and Christine Palmer actress Rachel McAdams.

At least one MCU hero will also be introduced in the film; Xochitl Gomez' will debut in her first tentpole film as America Chavez. The character's involvement with the multiverse will allow the film to delve even deeper into the concept, one which will continue to impact the MCU going forward, according to Marvel CCO Kevin Feige.

Now another actor has joined the Benedict Cumberbatch-led ensemble, adding to the growing cast of characters for the Doctor Strange sequel...

ADAM HUGILL JOINS DOCTOR STRANGE 2

Adam Hugill, a rising actor who has appeared in BBC America's The Watch and the critically-acclaimed 1917, has joined the cast of Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Direct has exclusively learned.

Our sources indicate that Hugill is likely playing Rintrah, an alien minotaur who possesses magic powers in Marvel Comics.

Adam Hugill is a relative Hollywood newcomer, meaning the actor joins a growing list of fledgling fresh faces that will be propelled to even greater heights through their MCU appearances. Marvel Studios has been consistently bringing in relative unknowns for their projects, including Ms. Marvel's Iman Vellani, Ironheart's Dominique Thorne, and Hugill's co-star Xochitl Gomez.

In the comics, Rintrah himself is an alien minotaur with green fur, hailing from the planet R'Vaal in another dimension. The minotaur's extra-dimensional location could be an indication as to how he will appear in the film, possibly encountering Doctor Strange as he passes through various avenues of the multiverse.

Rintrah also possesses some magical abilities, including the power to travel between dimensions. Could this skill be tweaked to apply to the multiverse in Doctor Strange 2? If so, perhaps Rintrah could act as a guide to Doctor Strange and Wanda Maximoff as they make their way through the chaos of alternate universes.

One prominent story that features Rintrah finds him delivering a repaired Cloak of Levitation to Doctor Strange after the minotaur's master, Enitharmon the Weaver, fixes the magical cape.

Perhaps Rintrah's inclusion in the Doctor Strange sequel could also signal an appearance from the dinosaur-like Enitharmon, accompanying his apprentice to add to the film's madness. Traversing the multiverse does seem to be a dangerous task, so this may warrant a trip to a master craftsman and his student to fix an unlucky cloak.

In one particular storyline, Stephen Strange briefly possessed Rintrah to face off against several foes. The doctor was shown to be able to perform astral projection in his first solo outing, so maybe this power could extend to embodying the physical form of other people in the sequel.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently set to arrive in theaters on March 25, 2022.
