While the MCU is set to debut dozens of new characters over the course of Phase 4 , a similar number of Marvel actors will be making anticipated returns as their beloved characters in the movies and Disney+ shows.
Quite a few of these comebacks will be included in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder, as Chris Hemsworth reunited with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster/Mighty Thor . The film is confirmed include the services of Chris Pratt as Star-Lord and likely the entire Guardians of the Galaxy team as they join forces against Christian Bale's menacing Gorr the God Butcher .
Unfortunately, returns are never guaranteed in the MCU, as proven by recent quotes from a fan-favorite actress in Thor's last solo adventure.
In a recent appearance on The Movie Dweeb's Youtube channel, Thor: Ragnarok star Rachel House revealed that she is nearly positive she will not return as Topaz in 2022's Thor: Love and Thunder .
Topaz is currently presumed dead after her ship crashed on Sakaar during Thor's escape with Bruce Banner and Valkyrie:
I think she’s gone-ers…I’m almost 100% sure that Topaz will not be seen again…I’m about 99.9% sure that I will not be in the next Thor.
House's full interview can be seen here, with her comments on Thor: Love and Thunder coming at the 19:30 mark:
WHAT THIS MEANS
Rachel House's Topaz added to the pure hilarity that filled the run time of 2017's Thor: Ragnarok , mostly at the side of Jeff Goldblum's eccentric and maniacal Grandmaster. Her ship crashed in her pursuit of Bruce Banner while he was commandeering the Grandmaster's "Commodore" vessel, and it appears fairly certain that she perished in the explosion.
Even though she can't completely be counted out in the MCU, House seems quite positive that fans have seen the last of Topaz in the MCU. She has worked with director Taika Waititi on a handful of projects, including Eagle vs. Shark, Boy, and Hunt for the Wilderpeople , but unless anything changes through the course of the next few months, it seems most likely that House's time in the MCU is limited to only one appearance.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to begin production in early 2021 and will release in theaters on May 6, 2022.
