Even though Marvel fans are incredibly happy at the moment with new material and news coming every day, a little disappointment still exists considering how long it will be until the MCU’s grand return to theaters. Daily life is slowly starting to return to normal, but Marvel Studios has still decided to delay the new Phase 4 movies until they can be shown to fans the way they deserve to be shown - in theaters, on the big screen.
With these delays comes an even longer wait for the highly anticipated first film of Phase 4: Scarlett Johansson’s first MCU solo movie Black Widow. The film has been completely finished and ready for release since before the pandemic caused delays across the entire movie industry, but fans are still looking forward to the movie as much as ever. This also includes the people who worked so hard to make the movie, one of whom has just shared a new look behind the scenes of the MCU’s second ever female-led solo film....

In a new post on Instagram, Black Widow make-up artist Deborah Denaver has shared a behind the scenes photo from the set. The photo shows herself with the film’s director Cate Shortland and starring actress Scarlett Johansson, along with the caption:
Behind the scenes of Black Widow with Scarlett Johansson and Director Cate Shortland ❤️ just a fun little shot ❤️Ladies in Film ❤️
The image appears to have been taken from the set in which Johansson's Natasha visits an abandoned trailer, a scene which has been previewed in promotional material. This photo doesn’t reveal too much in terms of new information for the production or plot of the movie, but it does serve as a nice look back at how much fun the cast and crew had during filming.
Shooting for this movie has been complete since mid-2019, with multiple trailers already released to promote the film, but this picture helps remind fans how excited the movie’s cast and crew still are for the release to finally come.
Denaver has spent many years working with Marvel, including six MCU movies and three as Scarlett Johansson’s personal makeup artist. The two clearly have a strong history working together, and it’s only fitting that they’re collaborating for a fourth time on the first ever solo film for the MCU’s original female superhero.
Black Widow has completed all shooting and post-production as it waits for its theatrical debut on May 7, 2021.
