Marvel Studios is currently going deeper into production on the highly-anticipated sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which is set to come to theaters in Summer 2022. Not only will this film do the best job it can to pay tribute to fallen T’Challa star Chadwick Boseman, but it’s also planning to expand the world of Africa’s hidden marvel while introducing new and important players to the franchise.
One of the biggest surprises in that regard is that Dominique Thorne will potentially make her MCU debut as young genius Riri Williams, better known by her superhero moniker Ironheart. Continuing the legacy built by Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony Stark, Riri will be playing a key role in next year’s expansive sequel while also preparing for her own Disney+ series.
It’s becoming clear that Thorne's character will see some major early development alongside the Wakandans in a supporting role. Fans have even gotten a couple of looks at Thorne in action, including a new one that gives the best view yet.
RIRI WILLIAMS HAS ARRIVED
Twitter user @CreamOrScream shared a new look at MCU newcomer Dominique Thorne filming a scene as Riri Williams on the set of Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The pictures were reportedly taken recently while the Marvel sequel was filming at the MIT campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with Thorne wearing a backpack in jeans and a gray t-shirt as her Riri Williams attire.

DOMINIQUE THORNE FINDING HER WAY
These pictures seem to be from the same shoot seen a few days ago with Thorne, Letita Wright’s Shuri, and Danai Gurira’s Okoye as they interact at one of the USA’s premier universities.
The interesting part of this scene is that Williams doesn’t appear to be interacting with the Wakandan princess and leader of the Dora Milaje quite yet. Shuri and Okoye could be spying on the young MIT genius or scoping her out for a potential partnership. It's currently unknown as to what will bring the three women all in the same place at the same time.
As more inside looks give fans a better feel for Ironheart’s place in Wakanda Forever, the stage will be set for one of Marvel’s exciting younger heroes to find her place in the overarching narrative. She will certainly have a bright future as more MCU entries come into play over the next couple years, and she will have a strong supporting cast with Wakanda’s top heroes as she moves forward in her own hero’s journey.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to release in theaters on July 8, 2022.
