While Disney+ is a whole new medium for fans to enjoy the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the House of Mouse is taking things to a new level.

Following Disneyland and Walt Disney World's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, an immersive land allowing park guests to live out their own adventure in that galaxy far, far away, Disneyland has been working on land dedicated to the MCU known as Avengers Campus.

The land's opening was delayed due to COVID-19. But with the Disneyland Resort finally reopening to guests on April 30, it's about time for the Avengers to assemble.

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE AT DISNEY CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE

The Disney Parks Blog has announced that the long-awaited Avengers Campus is finally opening at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort on June 4, 2021.

This brand-new land will allow guests to sling webs with Spider-Man on WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, visit Doctor Strange at a newly discovered Sanctum, and even consumed huge meals and tiny treats at the Pym Test Kitchen.

Avengers Campus will also feature MCU characters such as Iron Man, Captain Marvel, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, and Black Panther along with the Dora Milaje. Plus, Disney promises guests will even see Spider-Man literally swinging above the land.

The primary restaurant at Avengers Campus is Pym Test Kitchen where Pym Particles are used to grow and shrink food, and Disney has finally provided a first look at the Ant-Man and the Wasp-inspired eatery.

According to Disney,

"Among the menu items are the Impossible™ plant-based large and micro meatballs with pasta, and the “Pym-ini,” a panini served by the slice or as a long, multi-portion sandwich. All of it pairs perfectly with a glass of Pingo Doce, the distinctly green beverage from Avenger lore that will be available at Avengers Campus."

Fans familiar with 2012's The Avengers will also appreciate Shawarma Palace food cart covered in Avengers memorabilia.

Also, strange and bizarre intergalactic treats will be available at the Terran Treats food cart near the existing Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! attraction

Another area of the land will be dedicated to Doctor Strange and an ancient sanctum where he will train guests in the mystic arts.

Disney's announcement claimed that "At night, the area glows even more vividly with majestic colors and lights, pulsating with mystic energy."

Avengers Headquarters, topped with a Quinjet, is the future home to a future attraction where guests will experience fighting alongside the Avengers.

But in the meantime, guests will able to interact with Avengers in this area, as well as catch them in action.

Now the only attraction to open on June 4 with Avengers Campus is WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.

Disney

This attraction will allow guests will be able to sling webs just like Spidey due to new technology developed for this ride.

Disney explained the ride's story saying,

"The first key area of the land is the "Worldwide Engineering Brigade – also known as WEB." It brings together bright innovators like Peter Parker who have been assembled by Tony Stark to invent new technologies and equip everyday people to become Super Heroes like the Avengers. WEB will house the new WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, the first Disney ride-through attraction to feature the iconic friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!"

EXPERIENCE A MULTIVERSE

Marvel fans know that at this point in the MCU, Tony Stark and Captain America and other Marvel heroes are out of the picture.

But apparently, Disney has thought of that too explaining that Avengers Campus is part of the multiverse and exists in a timeline where Thanos never snapped.

However, despite the flexibility this affords Disney and the land itself, Disney and Marvel may have already made some adjustments.

Avengers Campus was originally slated to open to the public in July 2020 right after the release of Black Widow in theaters. This is why Disney also claimed Taskmaster, the villain of Black Widow, would be the villain present at Avengers Campus.

Of course, the land didn't open and fans still haven't seen Black WidowAnd this is probably why Taskmasker was suspiciously absent from today's announcement.

However, Disney is now saying that Loki, who will receive his own Disney+ series in June, will be present in the land, along with other villains and heroes making their first appearances at the park.

Since the only new Marvel content fans have received has been limited to Disney+, could it be that the inclusion of Loki is Disney's first attempt at interweaving Disney+ Marvel content into the parks? And if so, it's possible that fans may see the presence of WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in Avengers Campus in the future.
