Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to bring back Paul Rudd's Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne in the third solo adventure for the size-altering heroes on the big screen. The film is directed by Peyton Reed, who helmed both of the first two Ant-Man films. Alongside Rudd and Lilly, the threequel will also feature Michael Douglas' Hank Pym, Michelle Pfeiffer's Janet Van Dyne, newcomer Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, and the theatrical debut of Jonathan Majors' Kang the Conqueror.

The exact plot details from Quantumania are still being kept under wraps, but the title indicates that the film will revolve around the team exploring the mysterious Quantum Realm. Amidst the stellar cast, it is widely expected that Rudd's MCU hero will be front and center in the movie's storyline.

Despite being the expected focus of the story, not much is known about how Quantumania will push Scott Lang into the forefront. Rudd has been tight-lipped about the threequel in the past months, with him only praising his co-star, Jonathan Majors, for his stunning performance in the movie.

Now, a new wave of set photos could shed some light on Scott's in-universe state in the wider MCU after the game-changing events of Avengers: Endgame

First Look at Paul Rudd in Ant-Man 3 Revealed

Daily Mail revealed a new batch of photos from the set of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in Los Angeles, California showcasing fresh looks at Paul Rudd's Scott Lang.

The set, which is built to look like San Francisco, shows Rudd's MCU character walking carefree in the streets of the city.

The photos also appear to tease that Scott is being noticed by the public. Is the Marvel hero a popular figure after the events of Avengers: Endgame?

Other set photos show a cheerful Scott Lang entering a donut shop, but the reason behind his happiness is unknown.

Is Scott Lang Popular Now?

These latest set photos offer the best look yet at Paul Rudd's Scott Lang ahead of his upcoming Marvel return in Quantumania.

During Endgame, Scott is not a popular figure, which makes sense since he didn't walk around the streets proclaiming that he is a superhero. This is on top of the fact that the size-altering hero was stuck in the Quantum Realm for five years.

Now, after saving the world and restoring half of all life in the universe, it looks like Scott is now more well-known in the MCU. Spider-Man: Far From Home revealed that the world is aware of the Avengers' heroics against Thanos, which could be why the public is ecstatic upon seeing Scott.

However, being popular, especially for a superhero, comes at a cost, meaning that this could serve as a disadvantage rather than an advantage. Now that Scott's superhero secret is out in public, the character becomes an easy target for villains everywhere. This could give foes like Kang and MODOK an opening to attack that could spell trouble for Scott and Team Ant-Man.

A previously leaked promotional image from Quantumania showed a badly damaged Ant-Man helmet. While it is unknown if this image means anything to the film's story, it could tease that Scott could end up losing a loved one or at least the Ant-Man suit at the end. This could come as a price for being popular, thus hinting at a major change for the Avenger when the credits roll in the threequel.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to premiere in theaters on July 28, 2023.
