Star Wars Report Debunks Alleged Set Photo From Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka

She's no Jedi, but after cameos in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, this friend of the Skywalker family is finally getting her own live-action solo series on Disney+ in 2023. And, from what fans know so far, Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka won't be alone. Instead, she's expected to reunite with familiar faces from Star Wars Rebels, but this time, in live-action.

While the actual premise is being kept under wraps, Anakin Skywalker's former padawan is expected to square off against a live-action Grand Admiral Thrawn and likely Mena Massoud as Ezra Bridger. The potential for a Luke Skywalker cameo is a possibility as well, given their exchange in The Book of Boba Fett

According to previous reports, Ahsoka, shooting under the working title Stormcrow, is expected to begin filming April 2022. For a moment, it seemed as if the show's first on-set photo had made its way online; however, as Obi-Wan once cautioned, "Your eyes can deceive you."

Rosario Dawson's Ahsoka Set Photo Was Staged

In response to an alleged set photo showing Ahsoka and Darth Maul with a film crew, Bespin Bulletin claimed that the photo is a fake, explaining the "Cameras in the image aren't the ones they use" and how filming isn't excepted to begin "for a couple weeks:"

The tweet reads as follows:

"I’ve had 18 messages from people all asking about an image showing a scene being filmed between Ahsoka and Maul. It originated on Reddit with the user having ties to cosplay. Cameras in the image aren’t the ones they use. Ahsoka doesn’t film for a couple weeks. Fake mate."

The photo showed Ahsoka and Maul, wearing a Crimson Dawn necklace from Solo: A Star Wars Story, at a desert location and in front of a film crew. Several bodies and weapons lay nearby, implying that a fight had taken place.

The staged photo can be seen below:

Lies! Deception! Everyday More Lies!

In addition to what the Bespin Bulletin shared, there are other clues suggesting that the photo was staged. For instance, Ahsoka's face is turned away from the camera to avoid showing that she's not Rosario Dawson. Also, considering Ahsoka is expected to be set around the time of The Mandalorian, Maul should be dead at this point in the Star Wars Timeline.

While the two crossed blades in an epic battle at the conclusion of The Clone Wars, the only way a rematch would make sense is if the Ahsoka series included flashbacks.

It is worth noting that flashbacks as a story device are becoming more common in Star Wars projects. The Book of Boba Fett revealed Boba's past through the use of flashbacks, and audiences were privy to Grogu's memories through a flashback moment as well. Obi-Wan Kenobi is also expected to continue the tradition.

Honestly, flashbacks would work well for Ahsoka, especially since the cast of the animated Star Wars Rebels is involved. No doubt, Star Wars fans would love to see Ahsoka Tano remember moments from the animated series but in live-action, as well as certain memories from The Clone Wars

Once filming actually begins, fans are sure to learn more about what Lucasfilm's Dave Filoni has in store for this anticipated series, and hopefully, get to see real photos and teases from the set.

Audiences can also expect to hear accurate information about the show during Star Wars Celebration, including just who is really appearing alongside the iconic Star Wars heroine in 2023.

Ahsoka is set to debut on Disney+ in 2023.
