WandaVision: New Footage of Elizabeth Olsen & Paul Bettany's Marvel Heroes Revealed in TV Spot

By Richard Nebens Updated:
WandaVision still, title

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is counting down one last month until its return, all leading up to WandaVision beginning its run on Disney+ on January 15, 2021. With at least ten new movies and Disney+ shows coming in the next twelve months (barring no delays), Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany's first MCU lead billings will kick off a year where nearly every single week will bring new content from Marvel Studios after nothing since July 2019.

WandaVision is fully invested in its promotional tour, which reached new heights after the show's second full trailer debuted at the 2020 Disney Investor's Day last week. With the show's premiere now just a few weeks away, the expectation is that more short teasers will make their way online to give more peeks into what's on the way.

The first of these instances has appeared on TV, and it is already online thanks to a new social media blast.

A new post from Twitter user @haileebishop reveals a fresh TV spot for Marvel Studios' WandaVision that was seemingly aired during a recent commercial break. Multiple shots feature new footage that hasn't yet been utilized in either of the show's first two trailers or the initial Marvel Disney+ Super Bowl trailer.

Update: Marvel Studios officially released the WandaVision teaser entitled "Marriage."

WHAT THIS MEANS

While the back half of this trailer shows mostly footage that has been utilized before, the scenes in the front half give more depth to much of what has already been teased for the show's plot. Paul Bettany's Vision is shown kissing Wanda's forehead as they are in the 1950's kitchen set-up together, and the couple is shown holding their twin babies both standing up and sitting on the couch together.

There is also an interesting shot of them standing back-to-back and looking scared in their '70's outfits. It will be exciting to see how much action and battle is involved in the episodes that do take place in different eras of television, although reports say the latter episodes will skew toward the classic Marvel adventure feel that fans have come to know and love.

This should be the first of many new short teases at WandaVision as its premiere on Disney+ inches closer, although it's clear that Marvel Studios will keep the plot mostly under wraps until the show arrives in full.

WandaVision will begin streaming on Disney+ starting on January 15, 2021.
