Funko Pops are now intrinsically tied to the Star Wars brand, with a multitude of vinyl figures releasing based on the license.
Star Wars recently announced Mando Mondays, a weekly news event that will unveil new merchandise and content based on the series. This week revealed new Funko Pops based on the upcoming second season of The Mandalorian, bringing new figures of Din Djarin, Baby Yoda, and a Gamorrean fighter.
Star Wars originally intended to feature exclusive Funko Pops for Star Wars Celebration 2020, but its cancellation led to them being released through a different avenue. These figures are based on original concept art by Ralph McQuarrie for the original Star Wars, so they are a very unique take on the typical Funko figure.
Now, a new series of Star Wars Funko Pops have been unveiled, all being based on the popular seventh season of The Clone Wars...

Star Wars revealed a new lineup of upcoming Funko Pops based on season 7 of The Clone Wars. The figures depict fan favorites like Ahsoka Tano and Darth Maul, to the more obscure Gar Saxon.
Ahsoka Tano - Pre-Order Here
First up is Ahsoka Tano, who has two variants this time around:
Ahsoka wields her dual lightsabers, one of which being a gift from Anakin Skywalker.
Senior Product Designer at Funko Reis O’Brien talked about what they wanted to convey through the figure's pose, saying they "wanted this one to have the feel of coiled tension, like she’s facing danger and ready to strike."
The Ahsoka figure is available for pre-order here.
The other Ahsoka figure is a GameStop exclusive, and is a costume variant based on her outfit when we first see her in season 7. This figure has a more relaxed pose to distinguish it from the other version, according to the designers.

Darth Maul - Pre-Order Here
A Clone Wars season 7 lineup would not be complete without Darth Maul, who looks as menacing as ever here.
O'Brien mentions how this figure works well when placed next to Ahsoka, saying:
"We wanted his pose to feel similar to Ahsoka’s, so that when they are displayed facing each other you get a bit of storytelling...a tense moment of two foes facing each other in the few breaths before the fighting begins."

Bo-Katan Kryze - Pre-Order Here
Bo-Katan Kryze also receives a figure for the first time, ahead of her upcoming appearance in The Mandalorian season 2.
The figure features immaculate detail, in addition to her wielding an energy shield in tandem with her blaster.

Wrecker - Pre-Order Here
Wrecker is one of the clones introduced as part of The Bad Batch, and features unique detailing on his helmet to match the show.
This apparently proved a problem for the production of this figure, with O'Brien saying:
"We had to find a way to make those brushstroke-style skull marking on his helmet look great in production using pad prints. Working through the challenges of the brushed-on graphics and seeing how great they turned out is exactly the thing a toy-lover like me geeks out on. He really turned out stunning!"

Gar Saxon - Pre-Order Here
Gar Saxon was the commander of the Mandalorian Super Commandos under Darth Maul's rule over Mandalore, and he also gets his own Pop Vinyl figure.

Mandalorian Super Commando
Speaking of the Mandalorian Super Commandos, the troops get their own figure here as well. This one is an exclusive to the Funko Shop.

These will make fine additions to anybody's Funko Pop collections. It has been a while since the seventh season of The Clone Wars has premiered, but Funko has finally come through with merchandise worthy of the show's last hurrah.
Overall, these figures look fantastic, matching up nicely with the season 7 depictions of all of the characters. O'Brien even mentioned that "newer dry-brush techniques [were used] to match the colorization and shading style seen in the animation.” Funko has clearly gone the extra mile to deliver on figures that match the style of the show, whilst maintaining the iconic Funko look that collectors have come to expect.
