It's not always the main characters in Star Wars that attract attention. There are characters like General Veers who have small but somewhat notable roles in a story. And then there are even more obscure characters like Willow Hood, known for nothing more than running down a hallway with an ice cream maker, but the extra is now something of icon, yielding a group of cosplayers and inspiring the camtono in The Mandalorian .

In the film industry, studios re-use props, costumes, and even portions of sets to preserve parts of their budgets. This is especially true of Star Wars, where we've seen old props turn up in movies dating back to the Original Trilogy all the way up to present Disney films. Because of this, what could be seen as random background extras now becomes cool Easter Eggs that create new stories, and The Mandalorian Season 2's premiere has several of those...

NEWS

In The Mandalorian "Chapter 9: The Marshal", multiple aliens previously seen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Solo: A Star Wars Story made appearances during the show's opening fight-night sequence.

First up is one of Constable Zuvio's buddies from Jakku, a member of the Kyuzo species:

Next up we have an Ovissian from Solo: A Star Wars Story , also a member of Boolio's species as seen in Episode IX :

The final surprise appearance also comes from Solo , and is an unidentified creature who served under Enfys Nest:

WHAT THIS MEANS

We've got a pretty interesting collection of characters on our hands.

While neither Zuvio nor his pals made significant appearances in Episode VII , the constable and his crew can be seen briefly during Finn and Rey's escape from Jakku. Zuvio himself has become something of a meme ever since his Black Series action figure was released and subsequently became a peg warmer, making his friend pretty easy to identify.

The Ovissian in Solo was little more than an observer of the first game of Sabaac between Han and Lando, so his role wasn't anything noteworthy in the film. But fans may remember another member of his species in Boolio, who unfortunately became a table decoration for Kylo Ren in The Rise of Skywalker .

The unknown creature had the most active role of the three, fighting alongside Enfys Nest against Dryden Vos' Crimson Dawn forces on Savareen. While we didn't get too many looks at the man with big teeth, we know he's clearly a fighter and lived through whatever became of Nest's effort in rebelling against the Empire.

We know where these guys come from, but how did they get to their respective points in The Mandalorian ? How did the Ovissian and Big Tooth find their ways to the basement fight club we see them cheering in? The Ovissian conceivably could've come over from Mos Eisley, but Big Tooth is seemingly there for an unfavorable reason. And in the Kyuzo's case, how did he end up going from one planet to another between The Mandalorian and Episode VII ?

At first glance, the appearance of these guys doesn't seem to warrant any thought beyond recognition. But obscure characters have a tendency to find bigger stories, and the paths that led to their appearances in The Mandalorian Season 2's premiere could be worth exploring. Those tales could come in the form of books or even a TV series, or never. But keep on eye on these Mos Pelgo visitors... you never know when they may turn up again.
